Why is it that someone will complain about a salary hike for a University President and never say anything about the millions spent on athletic directors and coaches at the same universities?

It is my believe that the sums that are raked in on athletic events at universities in Kansas should be spent on education and maintaining the universities in general, not building bigger athletic programs that are nothing more than training camps for pro sports. If the NFL or NBA club owners want players trained, perhaps they should contribute to the university athletic program...but you never see that.

By the way...Congratulations to Tim Emert for voting against this, even though it passed.

The way the paper read they took the money out of the scholarship and endowment. People donating money to educate students and they pay wages with it.

Exactly, we just got a call from Pitt State wanting a donation the other night. We told them, "thanks, but no thanks." Since they gave their head guy a 14.7% raise, and we are only getting a 3.6% Cola on our Social Security check (some of which will be eaten up by higher medicare premiums), we just didn't feel we could afford it!

The university presidents in general are no less corrupt than the athletic directors and coaches in general.
