Sharp announces candidacy

Full story: The Bandera County Courier

My name is Scott Anthony Sharp. Since community leaders and citizens alike have urged me to continue my efforts in cleaning up this county, I am announcing my candidacy for Sheriff of Bandera County in the 2012 General Election.

He's running under the republican party....and would it really matter? We need change here! It's not like the Sheriff is going to make policy related to abortion, health care, foreign policy or even gun control. We need a sheriff no matter what party he or she runs under who cares about us...the people who live here. Who will take out the corruption that has found it's way into OUR world. Just as Sharp's literature which he has put out there says..."a proven choice against crime and corruption". No other candidate has proven they are strong enough or even brave enough to do that. No other candidate has the longevity in their career to make the changes we need and continue through the years without "retiring" again and leaving us in a rut once again. I think sharp has the insight into the BCSO that we need to clean out the bad and retain the good! No other candidate can say that, not even McGilvray who has never held an administrative position at the BCSO with his alleged experience that he says he has. If Sharp is elected, those who are corrupt will run and hide and he will bring us what this county has been waiting for. No one need come out of retirement, just to lose interest and not complete their term or move on to manage a hotel somewhere! Let's hire a true cop...one that won't put up with any ones shit, who will challenge the powers that be to do what is right for us....the taxpayers of this county. It's time for us to feel safe again....or maybe even for once.

What Scott fails to mention is that he wasa part of the old regime, until he got upset that he was not appointed sheriff after the old one retired. He is as crooked as the rest of them and I will never vote for him...good luck.

Oh, and wasn't his son fired for having sex in the jail, with an inmate? I think it shows Scott's integrity is a possible issue here.

Hey MiniMouse and to Too bad he is running. Smells like cop to me. What did this Sharp do to you? How would anyone know about any incident about his wife or ex-wife, just can't have someone fair run. I hope he get's it, I'm sure he'll run off all those deadbeat losers at the Sheriff office. It's time for a change and I feel he's it. That moran David and Allan could'nt solve a case if it was layed out for them. Allen should've retired when his dirty brother got popped for corruption, but I guess he's a mason too or needs the money to support his brother.

No, not a cop, just know his type and have heard a lot about him. Sorry if you want to waste a vote but I am not going to. I plan to vote for the right candidate, whoever that may be at election time.It amazes me how people like you always assume only other cops dont like Scott. You forget that in Bandera county, word gets aroud fast here.

The right man? I think these folks would like to see Boss Hog tucker back. Oh hell I forgot his brother is back.
The whole lot who lied to the grand jury and the AG's office should be fired. All of them.
When they pull you over are they gonna lie about that too? They are LIARS in charge of keeping the law in Bandera and they have already proven they have no respect for the law.
These poster sure as hell sound like cops or their wives they way they spread rumors. Bunch of old hens with nothing else to do than throw down on Sharp.
You know when Tucker's boy was caught doing dope no one said it was the old mans fault did they. What about when Brantley's boy smoked the evidence out of the evidence room. No it was just an isolated thing and certainly not daddy's fault.
How about that son of ex county attorney Schneider???? He had a rap sheet longer than his arm and mommy was never questioned.
How about Smith's son caught stealing from the jail--Smith is still there after hiring his own son.
These people want to spread rumors there is more than enough public officials to have a lot of fun with.
Yes I know Sharp was there too but at least he had the guts to stand up to the system which is more than most of these people are going to do.

Shadow you've summed it all up and you sure are exactly right, but the true facts are that these people are one sided and don't like change or growth. It's like a small town I used to live in far far away, I won't mention where it is but they wanted to build a Wal-Mart, but the community did'nt want it cause it would drive out the small business owners. These small business owners' prices were outragious, they would rather have these corrupt people running these stores making a rediculous profit. It really didn't matter to the poor ranchers, myself included, we would go to the neighboring cities to buy supplies again giving another town money for revenue. The same thing occurs here we just don't know about it as citizens look at Judge Evans didn't the Mason's oh!,(I meant the commissioners) buying the property from Evans to build the new Sheriff's department, nothing but corruption, then you have A. Tucker the brother of the ex-Sheriff as the luitenant, pure nepotism. I've said this on another sight I've lived in the city of Bandera for years and that's why I left that other small town, it happens everywhere you go, there's no need to leave your town just band together as tax payers. Shadow It's time for change and who better than Sharp, someone who knows the inside and wouldn't need assistance for outside agencies on how to run the county cause they're new to everything in Bandera.

I don't know whether Sharp is the right man but I wouldn't disqualify him because he sued the pants off this corrupt county.
The commissioners knew what he was about when they hired him.
I watched the whole trial in SA when he was sued for shooting an unarmed suspect from behind that was in full retreat in a wooded area that posed no threat to any civilian. Like to have blown the kids leg clear off. The doctors had to finish the job and a bleeding heart jury set him free.
Where in the book does it say it is ok to use deadly force on a fleeing suspect you just searched and knew had no gun.
This suspect was growing marijuana and selling it. Last time I checked that is not a hanging offense.
When Tucker got away with that he felt ten feet tall and bullet proof himself.
Now we are left with the deputies and a Tucker that lied their collective azzes off and they stand in judgement on the citizens of Bandera County.
The new Sheriff needs to fire all deputies that were using the County rescue boat and especially the ones that lied to the grand jury to help their former boss Tucker.
Yes we need to band together and stop this corruption once and for all.

I got carried away-I met the commissioners knew what Tucker was when they hired him not Sharp.

Just think next is Mario Hernendez suit alleging the same thing as Sharp and the county's star witness is a convicted ex sheriff who took a plea to felony count. I just have to laugh.
Hernandez will receive at least the $270,000 just like Sharp because Tucker treated them exactly the same.
No Hernandez, if he has any brains will hold out for more because the Texas Asso. of Counties knows they are on the hook here and the sky is the limit.
Personally I think Sharp settled too soon but it is what it is..

What's going on.
Lots of covering up going on in Bandera.
I noticed that old mouthy judge has been keeping a low profile.
He will be involved in the Hernenadez case because he just couldn't resist trying to get Hernandez fired when he went to work for the city.
The County Judge should have never gotten himself involved in that just because he was mad Hernandez found a job.
It would serve the Judge right if Sharp got elected.
