I have never been a fan of Dr. Counts' management style, but I do believe he has done a credible job of holding together the various groups (students, staff and faculty) that make up a university community. The university needs the stability.

I read tonight in Silver City's "other" daily newspaper that WNMU's regents chairman, Tony Trujillo, walked out of the meeting after learning that Counts' contract extension had been added to the agenda without his knowledge. What's this all about? He's the chairman, shouldn't additions/deletions to the agenda be cleared with him? Something smells big time.

Just like Observer, I have problems with Dr. Counts' management style. He's a bully, and he'll bulldoze you if you question his decisions, visions, etc.

I have a gut feeling there's going to be a big-time protest over the regents' action. They asked for it as far as I am concerned.
