When the former newspaper owner G.T. started printing stories about shortfalls in the educational system (inherited leadership instead of actual leadership) a local syndicate, comprised of relatives of the Superintendent and about six major Fleburg players joined together and bought out the paper to stop the "bad news" from being printed.
They put the current publishers in the drivers seat and sent all others on their way. Now its all a bunch of stories about how great the test scores are and how the school administrators are such great leaders.
Even the local idiots can see through that balogna.
That's the real deal and I know.

Yeah, I used to like him until he sold his soul to the clique that thinks they run everything in the county.
Now all he writes about is what he's told to write about. They were so embarrassed they wouldn't even do a story about the "secret shareholders of the Gazette."
All the messed up things in the school and all he reports is some excuse about how the computer equiptment keeps breaking down.
It's sad.

I work at The Flemingsburg Gazette and I feel this is ridiculous. If Fleming County High School is so bad get your children out of it. I attend FCHS and it seems okay to me. :)

Excuse me Common Sense "some excuse about how the computer equiptment keeps breaking down." Its funny that you are attending work with me everyday after school and know that my computer has been broken and that the guy keeps coming to fix it. This is ridiculous, a post that was soupossed to be informitive but now turned to gossip! Oh yay!

I thought Gary just said "the server was down in a recent issue. I'm pretty sure that's computer equiptment. I'm sure I read that in his column.
I'm pretty sure I'm not attending work with you every day.
Yeah, realy sure.
Think about your freedom.
Is there any non-conformast genes in your DNA?
Or do you 'toe the line' when told and don't ask no stinking questions?
I like your posts, I just wish you'd post something of substance.
And the posts have been about an alleged incident at "your school" where young adults were spitting into the crowd, allegedly.
Is that okay with you?
Do you think it is untrue?
Or do you think if it happened there should be policies put into place, if not already to make sure that no one that visits Fleming County School can say they ever saw anything like that happen.
And I'm not looking for you "to rat any friends out"
Just that parents and adults want better for you and all of the future generations of Fleming County.

its not that it is so bad, and I dont want to have to send my children elsewhere. I live in this county, pay the taxes here, I want to send my kids where I pay taxes at, locally. I WANT IMPROVEMENT, NOT TOLERANCE! that is the point of discussing things that happen at the schools, all of them.

I believe the behavior at my school is totally inappropriate, if it does occur. However, I attend football games...lots of them, and I can't say that anyone spits.
I don't have a problem "ratting anyone" out, if it needs to be done.
I believe that policies should be in place, but i'm pretty sure it never happened. Our new principal doesn't take things like this lightly (and she shouldn't) but she attends all games and has not mentioned a word about it...so, im just thinking its all a big scandlous.

But, back to Garry. He's pretty much my second father, and I enjoy his writing very much. It doesn't matte wether or not he "got permission from the local school adminstrator's family" it is that his writing is informational and interesting all at the same time.

I like gary's writing too, but to a lot of people the "permission from the local school administrator-(superintendent' s) family" is a pretty big deal.
Surely you've heard that Mr. Fern (father) and Mr. Herd (brother-in-law), were part of a group of about 12 that were in on purchasing the paper from G.T. and putting gary in as publisher
Or if you don't know that -perhaps you'd better go ask somebody.
You've got a good second father, who is a good writer, but facts are facts and "being owned" is something you might want to check out before you post anything else.
It's not as big of a secret in the community as you might think.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

No one is supposed to know who REALLY owns that paper, but I can tell you (lol)... Ronnie Fern, Steve Hurd, Charlie Brown, John Sims, William and Carol Thompson, Frank Hinton, Eric Barber, Dr. Glen Womack, Calvin Cheap, Gary Shannon, Michael Ginn, Matt and Elizabeth Fearin (Gary Barker's daughter). As you can see most the hush people are connected to the school system in one way or another.

It wasn't me that spilled the beans, but Shhhhhhh, I do believe you nailed every one of them.
I'm glad it's not as big a secret as some want it to be.
