I am so tired of "historians" trying to somehow make slavery an important issue here, as this article tried to do. The war was all about money and control. The very reasons most wars are fought about. And the northern yankee historians have been trying to coverup that fact since 1862. By lying about the true causes of the war, the yankees hope to gloss over the terrible war crimes committed on Southern civilians the last year during that "march to the sea". Purposely targeting civilians in order to "bring the South to it's knees" was the plan of Lincoln and Sherman. Lincoln was executed for his part in the war crimes. Sherman escaped punishment , on this earth. He is no doubt burning in hell for all the innocent blood on his cowardly hands. War "is hell" said Sherman. Well it certainly was for the cowardly way he made war. And the payback is hell too Sherman.
