Camp Washington-Carvera s future subject of hearing

State legislators from Fayette County and local officials say citizens were left in the dark about a Thursday night hearing involving the possible transfer of Camp Washington-Carver, noting public hearing notices did not even include the camp's name.

West Virginia Division of Culyure needs to give the Camp back to the State Colledge at least they will accomadate the repairs needed at the Camp I Know for a fact that there are urgent repairs that need be performed to the lodge and adjoining building as put by a Beckly engineering firms report and represenative in 2007 there are inament dangers of structural and physical plant failure of which WVDCH and it commisioner has not only ignored but took the funds set aside for these repairs for the Culture Center

i have not seen one thing that the dept of culture and history has done for camp washington carver camp except use it for their personal party place because they have not repaired any thing. and please take that man that is from winona ,west virginia to charleston. because he is hateful.

when will there be a new meeting?? about camp washington carver --- HOPE IT GETS OUT OF THE HANDS OF CULTURE AND HISTORY AND FLOYD RAMSEY. my children loved going there for holloween and easeter egg hunt we need more of this????

i hope the legislators can get camp washington carver camp back from the culture center. they can also take the a-- h--- who wears the shirt that says "staff" that rides the golf cart around. if you say anything to him his reply is " go a head and call the gov. of west virginia he is my personal friend and reed smith said he would have the gover. to take care of things for him." and the only reason that the culture center wants the camp so they can party and take trips to calif. and vegas.

Camp Carver was such a nice place where we could have things such as the haunted house. The kids that worked in the haunted house had a blast and the parents knew where they were what they were doing and that they were not drinking or taking drugs. They were supervised but they had fun.

I hope that the state does give carver back to the college then maybe the Friends Of Carver can regroup and do the good things they were doing there once again.
