Vassar College to reduce deer population using sharpshooters
Vassar College will use sharpshooters next month to reduce the deer herd near its main Town of Poughkeepsie campus - a move that has upset some neighbors who claim they were not notified about the cull until it was already set to occur.

Thank goodness they are taking care of the deer problem. These animals not only destroy vegetation, but carry deer ticks which spread Lyme Disease and other tick borne diseases. I love animals, but sometimes you gotta put your health and land first. This will make the safety and health of the whole campus better.

People who are against this hunt think that somehow deer are like "Bambi". They are not. Any more than skunk are like "Flower".
I'll bet none of them have ever had Lyme or knew anyone who did.
