Sorry no sympathy on this end...they should get exactly what they deserve...DEPORTATION!! Make it a felony on the first offense when they illegally enter the country and a 1yr jail sentence with chain gang labor on the southern border...they after-all came to work...

If I am to understand this article. Most Tennesseans think it's a good idea to fine an employer who hires illegals. These are the same people who do not want to deport the illegals? So, what are these illegals suppose to do to pay the bills, if they can not get a job? Live off of the taxpayers by having children? Rob, steal to pay the bills?

Really...I wonder who paid for this poll???LaRaza???Illegals are a burden but we don't want them held accountable except for maybe a fine. Then of course we think ILLEGALS who once ignored our laws should have a say in how our nation is run in the future. Then, when they have U.S. citizenship they will get to vote for our future LAWMAKERS!!!! All for breaking the law.I wonder if any of these "pathway to citizenship" morons would put them on the deed to their home if they broke into it??After all the 77 year old nurse said they need to work like everyone else....well they need to live also. Would she be so generous with her own home as she is with OUR NATION???

. Unfortunately, the world doesn't spin around you. What the Tennessee people think is the same than most americans think. Is like "I love you-I hate you". They are a burden (70%) but they don't want they to go (60%). You need to understand this, and understand you are not going to have this "your way".

No sympathy here either. I say cut off all taxpayer funded programs that aid these criminals and when the find out that the American Dream is something you are EXPECTED TO WORK FOR, they will head back home. It costs billions to educate, medicate and incarcerate them and the money would be better spent on worthwhile projects to help Americans.

Nobody asked me if I want my tax money going to these criminals!! Why should I support them? I do everything right, they do it all wrong. I think Obama needs to get out of the US...

. And so what? Nobody asked me if I want my tax money to pay for abortions, or elderly care, or the war, or armaments. Did you ever heard about the social contract?

The social contract applies to fellow citizens, not anyone who can fanagle their way in.

.. and before you say it, the SCOTUS argued in Plyler v. Doe that giving illegals' children a free education didn't constitute a *significant* burden to taxpayers. With 20+ million illegals here now, that argument no longer holds water.

. Not really, anyone who pay taxes (illegal immigrant do, according to the IRS and the Social Security) is entitled to the services provided by the government (for illegal immigrants, it is only K12 education and emergency care). Now, according to the census bureau, there are 3'000.000 illegal immigrants children in the K12 system. How 3' illegal immigrants are breaking a system that serve 60 million children? Again, in respect of the children of illegals immigrants born here, what part of "they are american citizens" is that you don't understand?
