The first case the commission should hear is the discrimination that has occurred against conservative groups by the IRS. That certainly qualifies as "institutional and systemic discrimination in our community".

But maybe the city can't handle the truth?

there gonna be a bunch of people with nothing better to do with their time but file complaints. Talk about opening a pandoras box.

So this Progressive feel-good claptrap actually targets local small businesses while letting the big fish off the hook?

Can't wait for the first lawsuit that bleeds the city coffers dry.

In the meantime,$200K of taxpayer dollars will swirl the drain to fund it.

Norris and Smith should be ashamed of themselves. And hopefully, Szakos has just driven the last nail into the coffin of her re-election bid.

For all of the listed trangressions, do you think it's a coincidence that "political discrimination" didn't make the cut.

An oversight, I'm sure.

Right?

All true but this sham commission looks OH so good on a resume or in someones memoirs. What ever catastrophic costs or effects on the city are inconsequential.

I am looking forward to the downtown mall's "frequent felons club" claiming discrimination because someone won't trust them to run a cash register. Make no mistake, this is what the ruse is really all about.

"Norris and Smith should be ashamed of themselves. And hopefully, Szakos has just driven the last nail into the coffin of her re-election bid....

norris and smith have no sense of shame or embarrassment in my opinion.

it might be said szakos is little more than a contemporary obergruppenfuhrer
reveling in the ideology she promotes.

there is no filter or boundary for these people;
they will sell the righteous for silver ; and sell the needy for a pair of shoes.

they are in the process of devaluing your property ; and personal rights
in the name of their vision.

orwell was right ; some animals are more equal than others.

Another classic example of just how screwed up the city really is. The priorities are so off base that it's mind boggling. You try and put your nose in my business and I'll hand you your A # S.

Time for the downtown mall to relocate to Stonefields. Discover a wonderful world free of backpack wearing criminals, beggars and bush league wannabe politicians.

Charlottesville... where Albemarle property taxes go to fund liberal progressive kangaroo courts. Taxation without representation is tyranny.

WOW! This council just lives in it's own little world! Even my Democrat friends of all colors think this is stupid! At least they created something we can all agree on.

Thank you Mr. Joyner for speaking out !

Seems futile in the Peoples Republic Of C-Ville.

The taxpayers need to fill these meetings up as its only the handout queens that have time to show up for the free stuff.

So, a couple of months ago the city didn't have enough money to repair its storm system so it had to raise money, but now it's got more than enough to waste on frivolous endeavors.

This is exactly why Charlottesville needs Mike Farruggio and Buddy Weber on the council to bring some common sense balance.

The Overseers of Plantation Charlottesville instructed their City Council to give the slaves an empty gift. Calms the frustrations resulting from domination of their lives. Makes the slaves believe there is hope for a better life when in fact there is no opportunity on Plantation Charlottesville. The Overseers push the cost of living up and then provide, with the slaves taxes, affordable housing and shelters. Who gets these living quarters is determined by the Overseers. Where people live is determined by the Overseers. Who gets a real education is ..........

These dependent slaves just provide access to grant money, public funds and gifts. The Overseers have clever ways of skimming their share. The more slaves, the more they can skim.

They all agree that there may not be any cases to establish a real need for a Discrimination Commission. Just a few city jobs and a playground for lawyers to work a bit trying to create discrimination and make the slaves think they have some power.

I keep hearing a tune in my head, "The World Turned Upside Down." Nothing in government makes sense anymore. It almost makes one want to join the ranks of the "low information" citizens. Tell me, is ignorance truly bliss?
