What about the impervious surface of the city street that produces runoff into my front yard whenever there is a heavy rain?

It's only a matter of time before these liberal idiots start taxing for the air we breath and the waste gas we expel! The money raised won't go to anything useful. I don't care what they say.

I sure was glad to see this pass. I would hate to think the problem could have been solved by cutting spending. Now they can start dreaming up a new "tax" for next year.

The next tax, The Tree Tax. Your trees are dropping leaves that the city has to pick up. How many trees do you have. Look out it could be next.

Jesus would say to the churches, "the brick and mortar you created are doing environmental harm, please pay your fair share to protect our environment".

Of course he would also question how the city will spend the money!

C'ville city council: Higher taxes, less freedom. That's not liberalism, that's authoritarianism.

This is what happens in a little big town. City Council is out of control due to no accountability. They don't understand that charity begins at home and the issues THEY choose to fund at the taxpayer's expense is proof that they don't view us as constituents but as TAXPAYERS only! I would suggest that non-profits all refuse to pay the tax and voters wake up. Recall petitions are in order here!

Actually you are theologically incorrect and have no premise for this statement. This is silliness.

They say the fee will damage their congregations.
"It's put us now in a place where any new added expense will pose severe hardship.
Something will have to go. We will have to cease funding something so I beg you to please leave the churches and tax-exempt folks alone for just a little while longer,"

All of the non-profits are yelling that it will affect their services it seems.
They want to dump this on the property tax tax payer.
Look at their arugments, the tax-payer can use the same ones also.
I say it would damage the city tax payer.
I say it would pose a severe hardship on the fixed income or poor tax payer.
Who would have to cease funding something also.(any one for lunch)

If any one stayed up last night an watched the city council meeting you would have seen Huja tr
y every thing to figure out how to reinburse the non-profits for this fee. I expected this from Norris but Huja? That is if I understood him correctly, They really need to get him a translator so that all the people can understand what he is saying.

So do the taxes on rain come in the mail during a drought? or does it only apply when it rains? City property owners should be livid. they voted 4 to 1 on this, I haven't heard one voice in favor of this tax so where is the representation?

Residents swarm to vote for liberal candidates who guarantee higher taxes regardless of everything and then complain when they get what they voted for. A majority want to pay a great deal more for energy and that is why they vote democrat/liberal for the left is opposed to others using energy. We must downgrade our nation to a third world country for it is 41 degrees outside and a greater tax burden is a quicker way to get there. A majority of voters demand that government control of our everyday lives must increase without limits.
