Seriously? The root of the problem is a system of white supremacy which is causing the American school system to fall behind internationally. I am mixed AND attended an international school initially and then an American public school. My adult children when younger attended both American private and public school systems. Amazing!...the dumbing down, the distractions, missed opportunities, teacher's grading systems, teachers refusing to give facts and information even when cornered, unclear about assignment expectations, profiling, teaching how to pass state exams instead of simply teaching, over-complicating and mystifying simple material, and then of course expecting more cooperation from parents during the process, and finally teaching what is obvious and commonsense rather than supplying all of the facts so as to allow children to use their own critical thinking skills to draw conclusions...I observed and learned that it originates and IS rooted in racism that is coming from the Caucasian sector...if you were going to compile the statistics into a chart that is, then duh, it's not hard to miss.

So, as cause and effect would have it, affirmative action is necessary.
