Blame lawmakers, not our veterans
In recent weeks, the military veterans who so proudly and bravely put their lives on the line for our country have heard a disquieting message coming from our state's institutions of higher education: They have been told that they and their children are a "burden" upon our public universities and colleges. It's the service also who let the men in lets say the Army with wifes, kids now they do not wont to pay cause of cost now back at state side...

During the draft of Vietnam Vets only 4% had a wife and kids:
In todays wars of ALL services 89% had wife kids and kid on the way NOW the cost of war is four times what is was in Vietnam cause of the support of familys back home and yes NOW the DOD and VA are hard up for money and wont to cut service personel with large familys to save money! YES fact - and in the coming wars it's sad they will fine tune who they sent out of the USA to fight wars cause of the cost per service personel went from $400 to as high at $1,000 a month cause of the exstended family state side!

I would say you're right. It's stands to reason that an 'all volunteer' military is going to see those men and women have families just like the normal civilian population. And then there is the recruitment factor of promising vets and education benefit as a reward for volunteer service,(a contract is a contract).
But there are also points of view from colleges and universities that don't cut it. They will allow their athletic programs to over scholarships to athletes that leave with the pro drafts come along ang never ask for a penny of that money back when they sign mega million pro contracts. They also have too many tenured professors who have the same job security a Federal Judge has-they have to die to get fired.
The only solution to the two sided argument would be for the U.S. to rent, or lease, a military if needed. This proposition is a damn good argument for the government to leave my Second Amendment rights to 'bear arms' alone.
