This story is false and misleading. The news herald reporter did not even attend the commission meeting. The commission voted 7 to 2 not to cut pay by 50%.

The motion did not die because of a lack of a second as reported in this story. The News herald is giving the commissioners a pass on their vote and deliberately distributing false information.

Not only giving some a pass, but not giving credit to the two who made and seconded the motion.
I assume these were the two yes votes.
I appreciate the example they set. It's not surprising more didn't follow their example; but it is a sad indication of where many of our "public servants' " priorities lie.

Another ghost-written story in the News-Herald.

The News Herald publisher has been notified about this mistake. The publisher refused to take any action or to even verify that a mistake was made.

This is disgraceful journalism. It's bad enough that they didn't send a reporter to an important meeting. Then it's bad that the reporter got the story wrong. Finally, when notified of the mistake they take no action?
