Insight: Mormon church made wealthy by donations
#1 Aug 12, 2012
the LDS church is not "wealthy" perse due to the ever growing welfare needs of members and non-members, including food, shelter, rent, house bills, etc. that they use their funds on, as well sa sustaining their unpaid leadership clergy (1st presidency and apostle) and maintaining each of their meeting houses and temples. This is what the donations are used for, and used very sparingly and prayerfully so there is enough to go around. It not cheap to pay members rent bills, inmost cases the biggest housebill of all.
