I live in this area they are talking about,. Why in the world would they be talking about more area? They can not fix what they got NOW!!!! They have been backed in a cornor they created. Now what to do ? I know how about taking in more? are they crazy? It shows how stupid the long beach gov is.... They do not have plans on how to run the city or to get money to run the city. All they want is a big PARK CITY. well let me tell them that as far as I know trees and grass dont pay taxes. How about trying to find a way to bring in some stores or casinos to pay some money to the city and be self supportive before thinking about more area to take in and NO way of supporting its services or people.Everybody knows long beach is a joke,or at least the people tht run it is,and it shows just look at the HUGE city hall they built, to over see the PARK.Heres a plan raise taxes, cut goverment and city payroll as low as it takes to become a productive city wait 5 to 10 years see how that works, then plan out the future,if there is anybody that wants to live in the city limits left.
no way

People can you not see the FUTURE? Please open your eyes, the new business district can ONLY come from the north! Someday(if you open you eyes)there will be a road on both sides of I-10 and businesses up beatline road. Can you not see this? Please quit being so short sighted, LOOK TO THE FUTURE NOT THE PAST! Please let the mayor and board keep their eye on the ball, annex north all the way to Landon road. This must happen, make it happen! Also, take a good look an the industrial park. BY the way my name is on this, maybe everyone else should put there name on it too, MAN UP? J KEVIN RILEY

I can see the future very well, I see big taxes for us who choose to live outside the Long Beach city limits with the large amount of land we own we would have to sell our home of 26 years, where we have raisd our kids and now 2 grandkids that love to play in the trees and on the land with no fear of cars speeding to close. Welive 1 mile noth of the city line and love it. It would be a very sad day to have to sell because Long Beach needs to take more than they can handle. Long Beach has been in trouble for along time and yes i lived in the city and went to school there, thats why we live outside the city for a reason.
