Woof, Gingrich leads in some of the Virginia polls. To use technicalities to keep a candidate off the ballot is a moral violation of the spirit of free elections. Something smells.

Laws written in the 1950's and updated in the 70's are hardly suspect.
If I was Newt I'd suspect my campaign co-ordinators of willful ineptitude.

Woof, x, So, in your opinion any election law in a Southern State written in the '50s and not updated since the 70's is rock solid. REALLY?

Not really my opinion that counts.
Now, if he can find a sympathetic judge, willing to over turn a pretty plain-english 60yr old election law in the next week, well, his or her opinion might pull some weight.

Okay, I must admit that I never liked Newt Gingrich, but I don't believe anybody should be left off a ballot, write-in or otherwise, because of a stupid technicality. This should not be allowed to change an election or primary in any way. Wake up Virginia, you're part of the union now.
