Ex-Notre Dame worker to repay much of $29,000 tip

A woman mistakenly tipped $29,000 by the University of Notre Dame in her catering paycheck will return more than half of the money in $50 monthly payments over the next 28 years.

Thats not fair ... the girl should be allowed to keep the money. They made a mistake, she tried correcting it ... where's the problem?

Are you serious?! It wasn't hers to keep. She knew that but spent it anyway. I'm shocked that she gets to keep $12,000.00. And I doubt she put much effort into "correcting" the problem. If she'd really wanted to correct the problem she wouldn't have cashed the check in the first place. It's stealing, plain and simple.

Yes, but she has to "tutor" the football team members for the next ten years as part of the agreement.

Which is so onerous. The soccer and lacrosse players and the swimmers are much gentler.

She repay's $16,800 on the 29 grand and attorney fees over 28 years , she got off verry lucky she actually got $12,170.00 for a $30 job not bad for a roll of the dice.

You do not CALL when you are given that kind of cash. You go back to the University show them the check and tell them they made a mistake.

If they do not listen to you, put it in a CD and collect the interest until they realize the mistake.

This woman should not be in college.
