Look at the number of "recognized" and "commended" schools in EPISD. I'm sure the reason we have so many drop outs in this city is because they can't afford bus fare out of this town.
The ones with an education and have a chance go elsewhere.
Bottom line with EPISD is its GREED, Theft, and blatant LIES. They robbed every family of hard earned tax dollars and denied an honest education to their children. The last two Superintendents admitted were guilty of fraud and faced no penalty. The city should take over the job fire all of the EPISD employees and make them re apply for thier jobs but under a different system. The city couldn't do any worse of a job than its current Central Office Admistration.

As I read the Texas Education Code, the Texas Education Agency is the only state authority that can take over the operation of a school district-they have done that on several occasions. What they can do is dissolve the board, appoint a TEA administrator who will do whatever it takes to bring the district back to a 'in compliance status', then merge the district with one which is established and found fit to absorb EPISD.
