Bad time to be a Republican?
How about all the unemployed blacks who voted for Obama? Are you aware that statisctics show times of heightened illegal immigration takes more jobs from blacks than any other group in America?
I could list dozens of points, but I'll leave that for your own research.
Tell me how the average democratic voter is doing better now under Obama. Higher taxes, higher unemployment, continued losses in the real estate market, and no relief in sight - thanks in large part to the policies of the Obama administration that are making the problems worse.
Do you really believe any one group is benefiting more than others right now?
I guess the illegal aliens are... But I'm speaking only of legal citizens.
When you speak of unemployed blacks, you are singing my family anthem.

My niece, a bright young energetic woman with a law degree, cannot find work. She is better educated than most of her cousins. Those with no degrees and those with no high school diplomas are doing much worse. High unemployment is no stranger to African-American communities and in the 1960's--long before hispanics became a scapegoat for American joblessness--black folks were in the streets screaming for employment.

African-Americans faced the same kind of vitriol being poured onto Latinos when we migrated from the south in the early 20th century in search of urban employment and opportunities in the North. I am not about to resent some other poor bastard for wanting to feed his family.

Secondly, Obama did not create this issue of illegal immigration and for the right to try to saddle him with the "historical" responsibility after they have tinkered with this thing for 30 years is just ludicrous. The fact is, because of the rough American economy, illegal immigration across the southern border has actually decreased.

I don't want to string this thing into a diatribe, but I am slightly suspicious that the resentment towards the hispanics has a lot less to dow ith having to compete with them for employment and much more to do with their representing the browning of the nation.

So many negative "side effects" attached to excessive drinking.
Yeah & if people are excessively drinking & over-eatting for comfort because of this econonmy or what-have-you, it doesn't make sense to make money disappear faster or flush it down the toilet in one way or the other... got money burning a hole in your pocket, eh? I hear that food shelves need donors.

I would also like to add: people are hungry that cannot even get out of the hungry group to feel full for comfort & they're facing this bad ecomony, too, plus hardly any or no food... makes ya not wanna over-eat & share some of that food, huh? Or not up the drinking & spend that extra money for food at Walmart & then take it to the food shelf, yes?

Then you look at all the costly things & problems that can be associated with excessive drinking besides the initial cost of the booze... their can be medical probs later or legal...
