State takes aim at lowering college textbook costs
Following up on a law passed by the Legislature last year, state agencies are taking steps to try to ease the strain on college students' wallets caused by textbook prices.

Let's put this in perspective. My four day trip to NYC cost $900. That's everything from airfare, the hotel in Times Square, food, four shows, and miscellaneous spending like subway fares and such. My latest batch of textbooks cost over $500...of those were over a hundred each. I like the comment on jax.com about the international version...but the State could stop charging me sales tax on my educational necessities.
