I'd say that before raising tuition, laying off staff, or cutting programs, NSHE should cut expenses. Take a look at the system administration, and how many bloated salaries there are in the system units, particularly in the Chancellor's office. We hear plenty about cutting programs at the campus level. What about reigning in these "Princes of NSHE", all these Vice Chancellors and Assistant Vice Chancellors and Executive Vice Chancellors, etc? The University system has the same problem that WCSD has, BLOAT AT THE TOP!! Do we really need a bunch of overpaid paper shufflers? How many people in system admin are making six figure salaries? And what about the pet projects they have that are exempt from budget cuts? Do you know that they are pumping tens of millions of dollars into a new computer system, at the same time they are cutting programs? Check into it for yourself, see what the "Princes of NSHE" are wasting our money on.
