University of Nevada, Reno Professor Scott Mensing was named 2010 Nevada Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and its partner in the awards program, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

This is a real honor to the state of Nevada and our higher education system, to bad for us that our new governor will be putting all of education on the shopping blocks to 'balance' the budgets.

He should be looking at ways to increase the revenue in our state, to keep quality in the education system and not cutting.
