Sorta like the old man Tom Monaghan falling asleep before finishing what he started with Ave Maria.

Seems that Ave Maria is looking for any publicity it can get even if it means associating itself with the Schindlers and their rabid and devoted cult following:

http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2009/mar/14/do...

Chancellor Tom Monaghan’s $200 million donation from his Domino’s Pizza fortune to found Ave Maria in 2002 still stands as the 20th largest gift ever made to an institution of higher education, according to an education trade paper. Two weeks ago, at a ribbon-cutting for the Ave Maria School of Law’s new North Naples home, Monaghan sounded weary discussing how much he’s spent on the university.

“I think when you total it up, when you mix in the town and everything, and your operating costs and your building costs and other costs, I knew those numbers a few years ago, but it must be $300-$350 million,” Monaghan said.

Monaghan spent more than $50 million for land surrounding the university to co-develop a new town whose proceeds would fund the university’s endowment.

The crash in the real estate market has affected that endowment, which stood at $2.6 million at the end of last fiscal year. It slowed the school’s plans to build an athletic complex and new classroom and dining spaces, chief financial officer Paul Roney said.

But the Ave Maria town real estate was never intended to pay the operating costs, Roney said.

Monaghan, still the school’s largest financier, remains on sound financial footing, Roney added. The majority of Monaghan’s wealth is invested outside the stock market.

Ave Maria scored a major donation recently when Tampa philanthropist Bob Thomas posthumously donated $5 million to the school.

Roney said the school’s focus in recruiting donors hasn’t changed.

“I think when we’re working with donors we just try to say who we are,” Roney said.“We hope that has the appeal for them.”

Of course the Schindlers made shameless exploitation fashionable in connection with Theresa Schiavo.

http://blogs.browardpalmbeach.com/juice/2009/...

The Schindlers more or less led the pack of profiteers and opportunists.

When they couldn't surround themselves with enough evil the Schindlers simply called Randall Terry.
_____
http://www.inthesetimes.com/article/369/

No less an authority than Bob Schindler, Schiavo’s father, has acknowledged Terry’s crucial support.

“Our family asked Randall Terry to come, and we gave him carte blanche to put Terri’s fight in front of the American people,” Schindler said.“He did exactly what we asked, and more. Randall organized vigils and protests, he coordinated the media, he helped us meet with Governor Bush.”

Terry was a leader in the anti-abortion movement’s campaign in the ’80s and early ’90s to put clinics out of business through intimidation, harassment and violence.

In a 1995 speech, for example, Terry reportedly said of doctors who perform abortions,“When I, or people like me, are running the country, you’d better flee, because we will find you, we will try you and we will execute you.”

Following an anti-racketeering lawsuit by the National Organization for Women, he agreed in 1998 to a permanent injunction against any future actions against clinics.

____

And the funny thing is that when it was all over the Schindlers- ever looking to place blame for their failures- went after Randall Terry for his tactics and accused him of causing politicians to distance themselves from the matter.

Nothing good ever comes from evil calling on evil.

That is right. This forum has biased mods and the fear of being sued.

Many posts have been remove on this forum.

The mods are Pro-Life, anti-Choice and Schindler supporters).

Any website that is Pro-Life will not be unbiased.

PP

I now write my posts with a word processor then copy to Topix. Some times it takes several attempts to get it posted. I assume they are beening blocked. I'll keep trying until I get posted. As you know some get removed later.
Some times I open another “Start a Discussion” to get it posted.

Nope, not Foo :-)

And it isn't usually profanity. It's sometimes whole articles I post and sometimes entire threads go poof!

There is a certain "investigative journalist" who doesn't like us to post on Terri Schiavo.

Ya gotta remember, right now this thread is crossed with abortion, Catholic, and Terri Schiavo.

By YOUR version of faith Knutter, Jesus Christ came to this world as a model of how we ought to live. Is this correct? Yes or no?

Assuming you agree with that, your goal should be to act like Jesus. So why do you act like Satan instead?
