Just to set the record straight. When Lincoln ( Republican) wanted to free the slaves the Northern Democrats argued with Lincoln and said to be EQUAL to all the southern states. The southern Democrats in those slaves states should Vote to keep the slaves if they want to .
Also the word slave came from the word slav, which was a European word referring to WHITE SLAVES. The Fist SLAVES in big numbers 100s thousands to America were WHITE. Britain was a caste system. Peasants and Lords. No Middle class!!!Britain first Used WHITE prisoner's to be Slaves for life, not Indentured Servants word play. Also the word Kidnapping was Born because of England's Lords Stealing a Kid from an orphanage while it was "Napping" to be a Indentured servant for LIFE/Slave. The orphanage turned a blind eye. 1 less kid to feed.

White Slaves to America was also gathered by Britishs "Press gangs" in hire of local Merchants, Theses gangs roamed England's streets seizing and FORCING WHITE boys for the Americas Slave trade. They were driven in flocks through town and confined to Shipment Barns.

The runaway black slave petitioned the Virgina court saying he put his time and and was free, when that wasn't working he wanted a White man to be his slave master. The Black Slave owner augured "I paid for Ye Slave for Life" The court Records Shows that the runaway slave be "ye Slave to his Black slave master for Life"

The basic reason the colonies used Black slaves later is because the 100s of thousands WHITE slaves died in passage chained and in the hot Fields. Keep in mind the White Slaves coming out of England's Shipyards were Kidnapped/forced. Also the voyage from England was Quicker then African. In the south an African Black was Breeding slaves. He had over a Hundered. How do we know this.
COURT Records and U.S. census back then. Also Slaves were insured by its owners. They were cheap to Buy.
Bottom line is slavery was WRONG... But for thousands of years thats the way things were done all over the world.
