the man has been paroled, Ky is his legal state of residence. He has paid his debt to society. My Bible states a sin is a sin. one is no greater than the other. a liar or thief is the same as a murder. another little thing I picked up from my Bible and My God, judge not lest ye be judged. I suggest that if you are a believer in Christ, you should walk in his ways and love everyone. We all deserve a second chance. Especially when you have paid your debt in full

Ok so what about the people sitting in jail who do not have a nickel to their name do they get the same treatment. I think not. A murderer is a murderer right, this man raped and took a womans life. Someone's daughter and sister, so you think they should walk free. I say off with his head, tooth for tooth eye for eye
i never said he should walk free.

Do yall read?
"Hodgkin will likely be released from the Marshall County Correctional Center in Holly Springs in April." He is not out yet. I heard that if enough people are against it then he wont be released.

"This was a murder so brutal, so bloody that the officer on the case has come to every parole hearing over all these years to testify against his release. Jeannie's family has come to every hearing since she died as well."

"Retired Oxford Police Chief Steve Bramlett, then a police investigator, called Gillies' murder "the most heinous crime" he has ever seen and predicts Hodgkin will kill again.

Hours of torture and multiple sexual assaults elevated Gillies' killing to capital murder, but Hodgkin will not have to register as a sex offender. House Bill 893, if passed, would remedy that legal gap but could not take effect before July 1."

I don't know about the rest of you but I am pretty worried about this.

His dad lives on French Ave. in the remodeled Buckner Mansion...He is one of the richest men in Winchester and pretty much controls all industry, banks, stores, factories of who comes into Winchester...old wealth. He is probably the richest man in Winchester. His mansion is very beautiful and in walking distance to St. Agatha and the school beside the Library. I hear his family are very good people.

His family is very lovely and kind. Mr. Hodgkin has given his time and money to this community and works hard to preserve the beautiful land that is in Clark Co. I know that the Hodgkin family has allowed the law to work and that the money that his family worked so hard to acquire played NO part in his release. It saddens me that because someone is successful and works hard to achieve what Mr. Hodgkin has achieved is held against him. Close to 30 inmates were released from prison last year in the state of Miss. for death related incidences, it isn't something new here people for someone to make parole. I believe the people in charge of the system understand what their job is and they are completely COMPETENT in making the decisions that they make. I'm glad that no one who is so negative in these blogs live in glass houses! AND for your information Mr. Hodgkin took this house on French Ave. that was falling apart and made a beautiful HISTORIC landmark a reality

I was lucky enough to work for one of Willie's nephews a couple of years ago. I got to know a few members of this family pretty well. They are good people. Their ties to Winchester and Clark County run deep and strong as does their pride in this community.

While there is no escaping the reality that his son was convicted of a horrible crime there is also no need to further villify him or his family.

Sounds like there are many on here that have been blessed with good families, free of the burdens that some family members can create through their actions and associations.

I personally know what it is like to have a "violent" convicted felon in my family. The shame that is created in no way equals the pain inflicted on their victims and the victims families but is there and undeserved nonetheless.

Be kind to Willie and his family. His family have been both kind and generous to many in this community and deserve the same support they have given many.

Amen to that "Cast No Stones" I know the family as well and have for almost 40 years. You will never find nicer people. They have had their share of horrible events and deaths to deal with and it is not for anyone of us to judge. Willie and Mischelle are wonderful. God bless them as they prepare for Douglas to come back to Winchester.

I know that he has spent 22 yrs in prison and yes his family may be "the nicest people ever" but my gosh,22yrs is his debt to society...he knows not that he can do this again and all he has to do is go serve a few more years...this is CRAZY!
And to think,he Don't have to register as a sex offender! I hope and pray every person in Clark County is aware of his release and stays away from the area he is in...I know I will avoid it and I will make sure to memorize his face to avoid him as well!
People can change but do you say that about Manson or all the terrorist? NO!
My opinion is go back to Mississippi or somewhere other than Clark County...don't we have enough problems with drugs and crime?

The bible also says an eye for an eye.

I know people who got more time for killing someone in self-defense. A woman recently paroled got LIFE for shooting her father who had been molesting her since she was 8 years old.

The rate of going back to crime for sex offenders is incredibly high. Remember the case in California some time back? Lawrence Singleton, you can google his name. He raped and tortured a 14 year old girl, cutting both of her arms off with a hatchet. She lived thankfully, and he was arrested. He served less only EIGHT years. He was paroled and went to Florida where he ended up murdering a prositute and mother of three in his own home.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Singlet...

There are hundreds, probably thousands of cases where a violent criminal was paroled and ended up raping or killing someone. I know of a guy who raped approx. 60 women, did time in prison in three different states, he was on parole from his last stint in Florida when he raped a 18 year old girl who was on her way home from work. He pled no contest and was supposed to serve 15 years PLUS another 18 for breaking parole... he was out in nine.

But let someone get caught with an ounce of pot, they throw away the key.

that's exactly what I'm saying "are you crazy"
It is rediculous how people get on here defending this guy....he did a HORRIBLE crime and is being let out,in our community..I don't see how people/parents aren't outraged! I'm glad that Mississippi atleast is holding him until he registers as an offender...atleast he won't be around schools...IF he follows the rules!
Like another stated, get caught with marijuana and they want to throw you away but murder and it's ok

I just don't understand why people are so use to this world that they would trust someone who did a awful crime like this. His dad could be the pope and the most perfect person in the world but his son is a piece of scum that I don't want living around kids do you people realize how close downtown is to college park a private school for kids? I hope Clark County watches this man every move.

"my opinion", he can still go around schools, he just can't live within a 1,000 ft radius from a schools property line, daycares, and parks. i always thought the law was stupid because it doesn't make them stay away from schools, just that they can't live around them. he moved out on van meter, so be careful BCTC students.

you people do not know Douglas and/or any facts regarding the death of his fiance. he loved this girl...he found her in this condition and called the police himself. he also passed a lie detector test and this crime occured way before dna testing and forensic science. Douglas is a wonderful person and will live with this horrid memory the rest of his life. oh...did i mention she was pregnant with his child, which was his dream come true. he is not a threat to anyone.

I already started doing that too. Printed out the flier from the sex offender registry and passed it out to the people of Rockwell Village and will get to Treehaven today...I'm even going on Van Meter and gonna hang them everywhere!
