More affordable?
Couldn't ever have a look under the hood of higher education spending.

Why should it be more affordable?

It's worth what it's worth. When ever the government messes with the free market, bad things happen.

College has nothing to do with the free market as it is already so heavily supported by tax dollars. Look at the U of M which has it's students subsidized at a rate of $0.90 per dollar they pay (it used to be far higher).

The problem is with the left pushing the idea that everyone needs to go to college even if you don't get an education that will make you more marketable in the job field. Of course they don't want to mention that teacher salaries and benefits makes up the lions share of tuition costs.

I guess what I am most opposed to is the idea of giving a tax credits to support other people's bad choices. It smacks of Obama attempting to pandering to his base

the govt needs to give the students mo money so they can camp out in their 'occupy' camps and keep up their tuition for free. OWS is the next great college credit course for the socialist share-the-wealth loons. Give them money someone else made cause they will never make any themselves. More free student grants and loans to give us more hamburger flippers witn a BA or MA degree.

Well, when you have a product most people want, and they are pretty much gauranteed a loan to get it, why wouldn't you feel free to hike the price up at your leisure?

There is very little pressure for colleges to control their costs.

Higher Ed today is a waste. So many worthless courses that have NO VALUE. Course offerings should be limited to job related ONLY. None of these junk courses.

I spent $6,000 on a 6 month computer programming course back in the 1970s and that education got me a job and I worked in that profession my entire life. I payed for the course with money I borrowed from a bank and I paid back the loan.

These days college "profs" are way overpaid and teaching junk courses to idiots who will never see a payback from the junk education. Meanwhile the taxpayers are expected to pay for all this junk education.

It's time this stops!!

How do you define "succeed"? I also found it hilarious that the left talks about the right being Fascists while ignoring Obama's attacks on personal and constitutional liberty.

No such word as "olds", try olds' and try reality.

You "claimed" to be college educated, but it's wrong for other people ??? WHY ? I get the childish Obama slam, but if you went to college, is THAT always the presidents agenda or are you as foolish as your post !???
