No one should be allowed to have a cell phone turned on in public either. They emit raditation that can be bad for your health.
A recent study in Britain shows that guys who wear their phone on their belt have reduced sperm counts.
Alotta people "poo poo" these studies now (just like they did the "smoking can cause cancer" studies 40 years ago). As usual, we'll have to wait until a few hundred thousand cancer deaths linked to radiation from so many cell phones occurs.
If you want to use a cell phone and give yourself cancer, that's your business. But keep your cancer-causing radiation to yourself and away from me and my children.
FOUL.THE CELL phone has to be turned on up next to your face,no way has it ever harmed a bystander.you are full of it.cigarettes harm anyone who breathes the air within so many yards.and yes even your clothes stink.perfume also does no damage to bystanders, altho i d agree some of it don't smell too good, but it don't cause bystanders cancer.

ONE cell phone might have to be "near your face"...but walk around UK campus where you're SURROUNDED by people with cell phones. Multiple weak radiation sources add up.

That's why they should be banned IN PUBLIC.

What's your point? This forum and thread are smoking related, and have nothing to do with cell phones. Cell phones would I'm sure make a good topic thread, but this is not the place to get into it.
Thanks in advance for staying on the approperate topic.

No" biological defect found for any mental illness or any of the other made to order diagnoses by any neurological study.
There has been "No" biological defect found for any mental illness or any of the other made to order diagnoses by any neurological study.

Without a test for chemical imbalance the mental health (psychiatry) is limited in the ancillary tests of medicine like an EKG, EEG, blood work or other tests in the diagnoses of a patient. They aren't needed in Psychiatry.

The psychiatric diagnosis is made on the basis of behavior and hearsay.

If we respect metabolic changes based on daily dietary habits, weight gain / loss , terms of the survival of the organisms as a person age along with physical conditioning, physical illness, electrolyte level, gender differences , body temperature, I don't see how the Mental Health and Counseling Industry could conform to any consistency in data with consideration to the above to state a person has a mental disease or illness based on chemical imbalance.

I'm not bitching about how smokers smell. I don't want to breathe in second-hand smoke.

I don't know what effect a doctor smelling like smoke could have on a patient. But if you work in a place full of sick people, it just seems logical to keep their area as clean as possible.

I've visited friend's who smoke in their homes, not necessarily in my presence. When I get home I have to take a shower. I feel like I'm coated in the shit.

This ban mustn't apply to those hajies who have an establishment built on indoor smoking here in town (hookah lounges). Could it be that local officials are cutting them slack out of fear of being considered discriminators?

Bottom line: All business owners should be able to decide, at their discretion, whether to allow smoking in THEIR place of business. If you don't like the environment that is controlled by those who OWN the place, don't patronize it!

All we need is the government telling us what is good for us. Pathetic that people actually put faith in government. But yet they allow Monsanto to run rampant. And people wonder why we should not trust the government.

It has been over a year since the city passed its smoking ordinance, prohibiting smoking in all buildings open to the public or used as workplaces for public health reasons. Now there is discussion of a similar statewide law. How do you feel about the ordinance and the possibility of something like it on the state level?
