When a 20 year old is carrying a firearm, and a 16 year old is the victim, then you know without a doubt that these kids grew up without parents, or had parents that taught them very little. That seems to be an aged problem with this area.

What you posted doesn't make a damn bit of sense. How do you know this? By your logic...all criminals come from broken homes. How can you blame that child's parents because someone decided to shoot him in the head and take a life that had hardly just began? Get out of here with that fake Dr. Phil mentality.

Jaleel was no saint. His grandmother used to be a dispatcher with the police department. He was always running away and had problems with drugs, theft, and was a self admitted blood gang member. Of course they don't show those photos on the TV. However, with that being said, he had just started working and was maybe trying to turn that corner. The way that he was just gunned down was brutal and senseless.

Blood gang? Lmao! The only "blood gang" in Lexington is the good folks at the Central Kentucky Blood Center. If you live outside of the Los Angeles metropolitan area and claim blood....you are a wannabe. Jaleel was just a kid who hadn't found himself yet, and sadly will never be able to.

It doesn't matter if kids are raised right or wrong. You can not force anything on them. Sometimes it's their choice other times it's not.

This wouldn't make sense to someone with a very low mentality, some people think that shooting someone makes them in some way a hero.

Terrible. I'm guessing that the shooter was black, right? I'm guessing that because black men seem sp violent, especially when they run in packs that they call gangs.

its bad when a young loses his life and another young man has his life totally messed up, but other victims are the young girl and the baby, now the two men that may help support the baby is gone. so you have 4 victims.

i didn't think any black baby daddies supported their kids. none of the black baby mommies I know have any support from their sperm donors.

You are ignorant my friend. There are true to life gang members all over this town. Ambrose, 22 boys, AMLKQN, Crips, Bloods, Black P-stones, several local and regional gangs. Most of the youth that are 15-25 that commit crimes around here claim some sort of affiliation with a gang. There is not that much gang on gang violence here because they are not really well organized and use more of a lateral hierarchy than pyramid structure. Meaning if you're in the gang you don't have a true leader and everyone is equal. Wannabe members are gonna be members. Wannabes are like probationary members of a motorcycle club. There isn't much difference. Granted that we are not south central LA, but how about the Detroit gang bangers that have started coming to Lexington because the police and courts are easier on them here? How about the Chicago members that come down to traffic weapons and drugs? When they get here they start recruiting the wannabes here and they start trafficking and robbing. Believe it or not there are MS13 members here as we'll as nortenos and surenos. In addition to that there are members of the Mexican cartels that have been seen in lexington and arrested here. Get your fact straight and don't be so naive.

It doesn't matter if the shooter was purple in this instance. This was not a gang related killing. However, there are several indicators that law enforcement uses to determine if a individual claims affiliation with a gang.

I am not in a gang dumbass! I deal with them on a daily basis. I know more about it than you will know. I already said that we don't have truly hardened gang members here. But we do have gangs. It only takes 5 or more people with several indicators to be classified as a gang. The most important indicator is criminal activity.
