Five injured in accident on Corbin Bypass

A Barbourville woman has been charged with DUI and assault by state police after they say she caused a three-vehicle accident on the Corbin Bypass Wednesday that injured five people, one seriously.

Her aunt posted that she was going to be all right. She has had surgery on her arm. I do not know anything more. If I hear of anything I will let you know. I am sure that her family would thank you for asking, so, Thank you.

Have they ever said who was at fault in the accident? I know they arrested the other girl for DUI, but that does not mean she was the cause of it. It looked like Jessica may have been trying to pass the other girl and tried to get back over too soon. Maybe hit her and caused herself to spin out and go under the truck. Not insinuating this or accusing , just wondering. She had to be in a hurry and driving very fast to knock that rear end completely out from under that truck. Whoever caused it better havesome really good insurance though. There was a small fortune destroyed there along with the clean-up. The road will very possibly have to be resurfaced because of the liquid nitrogen that was freezing the roadway. After a short period of time there will be a big hole there needing repaired.

Heather CORNETT Morgan crossed the center line and sideswiped my niece.....this made her (my niece, jessica) lose control of her care and started spinning...she then hit the truck head on...and was thrown from her vehicle...her body hit the truck....then she hit the guardrail and then was flipped over into the weeds face down.....after she was thrown from the car it went up underneath the truck and the back of the truck ran over the car....I assume this is why the back wheels was torn off....this is what I got from witnesses and the man driving the truck....it is in no way my niece's fault....the other girl driving the cavalier was high on pain meds this is why she was arrested....she drove over a half of a mile before she finally stopped her car...probably to switch drivers since she is saying she wasnt driving the cavalier...police have all ready proven that she was indeed the driver.....my niece was going after her baby at the daycare....her only crime was not wearing her seatbelt...but in this case if she were she would have surely been killed....I will NEVER gripe at her again for not wearing her seat belt....something I did every day for years.....btw she is doing okay...she had surgery yesterday to put her left arm back together...they cannot do anything for the broken vertabra in her back they said it would cause her pain the rest of her life....she had some bleeding in her brain but that has stopped....her prognosis is good...just going to take some time.....

I was relaying what the truck drive said to someone else..one of his friends that contacted me....Hell I am not gonna sit here and argue back and forth...I know whose fault the accident is....argue amongst yourselves....I dont have to....I was trying to help someone understand what happened....as far as I am concerned you can all kiss my ass....I wont respond to you that want to lay blame on the person that was nearly killed....
