Price for a hip replacement stumps many hospitals

Despite a growing public interest in the cost of medical procedures, a University of Iowa study found it's very difficult to get prices for hip replacements, which vary more than tenfold depending on the hospital.

It might be better to have transparency with the prices of medical procedures such as a hip replacement surgery which is performed almost every day. Thousands are suffering from hip osteoarthritis and other ailments which require a hip replacement operation. I have read somewhere that there are others who are experiencing complications from this type of surgery due to the hip implants used such as inflammation, pain, and metallosis.
