Gay couples a are better at communicatinga

Recent studies indicate that same-sex couples have greater levels of satisfaction in their relationships than their heterosexual counterparts due to better communication. Researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign studied couples of the same sex and opposite sexes and discovered that, contrary to the beliefs of some, the relationships are very similar. These findings will help bridge the gap between society's generalised views regarding the longevity and strength of gay partnerships, researchers believe. Glenn Roisman, researcher and author of the study by the University of Illinois, told The Desert Sun: “If one is basing one's world view that same-sex couples are fundamentally different than opposite-sex pairs as being of an inferior quality, one is mistaken.” In a three-year study of civil unions taking place in Vermont, Esther Rothblum, a professor of Women's Studies at San Diego State University, discovered that same-sex couples resolved conflict better than opposite-sex couples in committed relationships.

I expect it is more the case that gay couples come to marriage with a more egalitarian view of a relationship. Studies also show that children who grow up in a same-sex household turn out gay or straight in exactly the same proportion as the normal population, but the children are more likely to be tolerance of differences.

Perhaps because we are better at communicating we will be able to avoid the pitfalls of hetero marriage when we gain equality everywhere...you know, the 50+% divorce rate and the 80+% adultery rate.

It seems logical to me. Men and women communicate differently so it seems logical that two men or two women would communicate better than a man and a woman. No brainer.

Gay male couples who don't have the real ability to get along break up after having their first argument, or simply get bored with one another after the sex is no longer hot. Lesbian couples do the same, except they have already moved in with each other and breaking up involves more screaming.

On the contrary, straight couples who are incompatible spend endless years patching up and splitting again. Mostly because the straight women go on and on about men not meeting their needs and the straight men have nothing to say about women when it does not involve sex or what b*tches they are. Then they say they can't live without the other one.

The main problem is that men's mind and women's minds are different. Hence same-sex relationships are either more compatible by nature or any incompatibility is not masked by gender differences.
