One more time, illegal aliens are not immigrants but law breakers. The author clearly cannot tell the difference.

Get a load of this.I got a letter from my daughters school. The letter says I MUST answer questions about her race and ethnicity to provide data for the federal government. The purpose is to locate and count those children who can get extra funds for the school and get extra help i.e. ELS, minority needs classes, etc. The very purpose of this is to select and favor some while discriminating others and it is done by the federal government for some warped logic of "fairness"!

I wrote a note saying that I DID NOT have to answer the question, it is an invasion of our privacy, and the feds could sue me if they wanted to. Furthermore, all children should be treated equally regardless of race/ethnicity/religion/sex/or ientation etc.

What really fries me is that my child needs advanced classes and the school has NO money for that. Their whole idea of advanced placement now is to bump them up a grade (No cost to the school). When my older children attended this school they had separate classes for AP students but now the money is diverted to bringing the bottom up thus ignoring the brightest of the school children. This truly is a "no child gets ahead" system.

Who will be our leaders when this generation takes over if all are educated to minimum standards only? The dumbing down of a whole generation!

BTW, My child is a minority and does not require or deserve any special services or consideration for being one.

The huge cost of dumbing down our schools, subsidizing the illegal aliens wages for the illegal alien employers, unemployment for those displaced American workers and other costs of illegals is where the resentment lies and appropriately so.

Get this, last week in a coupon advertising mailer the following was inside: Islam Do You Want To know More? The mailing company Valpak consulted with their Rabbi, who thought it was a good idea. The company claims it had nothing to do with 911 and the proposed Mosque in NYC.

Articles like this rarely mention educated people who want to come in legally have hurdles. These people offer far more potential as job creators.
.
The illegals give American progressives another opportunity to parade around their moral superiority and sanctimony. Victims of illegals are told to sit down and be quiet.

Spot on.

Yes I can see that the illegals such as the Mexicans for instance, are costing American taxpayers alot of money. Not only that, many of the Mexican illegals tend to come peasant, illiterate backgrounds. These illegals who have children in the United States, the children tend to be disadvantaged when it comes to education achievement and crime, The legal Mexican immigrants usually come from a more educated, skilled background who already have some command of English before entering America. Their children in America tend to enter the Middle Class through College-degree employment and skilled trades.

The European immigrants prior to the 1950s, they worked very hard in building America. The Irish helped build bridges, roads and buildings. Also, many of them entered the Police Force and the Fire brigade. Many of them lived in poor conditions and were paid far below the average pay of Anglo-Americans but they were determined to work and build themselves up. Infact, the Irish dominated the workfields mentioned and today, you can still find the descendants of these Irishmen in those occupations.

The Germans helped form the American education system, the Beer brewing industry and literature. The Jews worked in the markets in New York and the garment industry, and have influenced the American culture through vaudeville, radio, then television and Hollywood.

These days, America seems that it does not need to rely on immigration as much as it used to. Maybe America needs to limit on allowing illegals to remain in America and let certain legal migrants to enter who will bring positive skills and knowledge and those who can create businesses and employment.

For many, the German contribution to the American beer industry is considered the greatest thing since Christ's sermon on the mount.
.
The Hispanic community has been playing the race card hot and heavy to justify the illegal entry of their cousins (Asians do the same to a lesser extent).
.
The United States has throttled back immigration in the past and this allowed the labor/job market balance out. Americans didn't have to compete against a flood of immigrants and wages started to rise.
.
The United States gets Mexico's welfare class, Mexico gets American jobs and then Mexico gets billions from the money illegals send back. The people of the United States should see dealing with Mexico is a lose-lose-lose proposition.

Another reason is that SCOTUS ruled that educating children no matter their immigration status would not negatively impact US citizens. How else are we to gain costs; tho I doubt illegals would self report?

the only people all in office need to be concerned about is citizens.

is there any stats to show how the new folks have brought up the gpa of schools?

they need to show proof their words are not good.

take a school with the highest amount of citizens and put them straight across from those with the lowest amount of citizens and see who has the lowest gpa and prove the problem.

like els programs put them against those with out a need for these classes and do not grade on that stupid curve which only makes for failure. same test word for word.
