The Tea Party Patriots, Georgia-based but claiming 1,000 chapters nationally, are instructing members to remind teachers that a 2004 federal law requires public schools to teach Constitution lessons every Sept. 17, commemorating the day the document was signed. And they'd like the teachers to use material from the Malta, Idaho-based National Center for Constitutional Studies, which promotes the Constitution as a divinely-inspired document.

The center's founder, W. Cleon Skousen, once called Jamestown's original settlers communists, wrote end-of-days prophecy and suggested Russians stole Sputnik from the United States. In 1987, one of his books was criticized for suggesting American slave children were freer than white non-slaves. Teabagger whack jobs.

School curriculum has been usurped and instead of providing our country with capable graduates we have a nation with students getting remedial help in college because they failed to get educated in high school.

The curriculum is jam full of mandated material from legislators.

what a mess our educational system has become.

Help your kids by working a second job and putting them in a private school. OR better yet elect politicians who advocate for school vouchers for ALL. Let federal, state and local funds follow each child to the school -whether public, private, parochial, virtual- our their family's choice.

Wow! You mean our public schools, paid for with tax money are actually thinking about teaching our children about the documents that are the basic foundation for our way of life? And people are actually upset with the Tea Party for promoting this?

Personally, I would much rather have our country's children learn about the founding of our nation and the difference between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution / Bill of Rights than drama. Puhleeze!

Hopefully normal parents will put a stop to this! Only qualified teachers without a political agenda should teach the constitution. I wouldn't want these teabagger vermin within ten feet of my grandchildren! By their actions at town hall meeting it is apparent that the teabaggers have no understanding of the constitution or respect for the rights of others. No way should these loudmouths be in any school!

The problem is that the teacher's in today's public schools are the ones allowing our children to 'graduate' not knowing the difference between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. It's these unqualified teachers that are allowing these kids to grow up ignorant of their own history; these kids grow up believing everything they see on tv, internet, hear on the radio. These unqualified teachers are NOT teaching these kids to think for themselves or question until they learn the truth.

School kids are being inundated and brainwashed with history revisionism.
They are force-fed information about muslims, illegal Mexicans, homosexuality, trans-gender subjects, and other useless topics.

Every muslim is good and caring.
Every illegal Mexican is an asset.
Homosexuality and trans-genderism are the norm.
The Founding Fathers were homosexual.

The U.S. Constitution and the American flag are to liberals (who run the public education system) what a Crucifix is to Dracula.

If Oklahoma is any indication of the quality of public education in general, we're in trouble.
