As a born Pennsylvanian, I sincerely apology for the likes of Rick Santorum. One more reason why I'm glad I don't live there anymore.

Yes, most definitely. Either that or Palin-Limbaugh. Would love to see either combination as the GOP ticket in 1012.

The Palin-Bachmann ticket would be WAY more entertaining.

And the GOP ticket in 1012? Is that a Freudian slip?

Palin-Bachmann... What a "crash and burn" duo! Cross your fingers and hope for it!

And "1012" just PERFECTLY describes their politics!

Call me sexist, but a woman president is something I'm really not comfortable with. We tend to have too many hormonal ups and downs, too emotional, and skittish to be ensconced in the #1 high anxiety job in America. Just thinking out loud.

Margaret Thatcher and Angela Merkel have both done a great job in their respective countries.

Santorum won't get far. Here's why:

1: His surname has become (thanks to Dan Savage) a synonym for...um...something not-so-nice.

2: He's a jackass.

3: He got all intelligent design-y when there was a big hullaballoo about it, got involved with the DI, then when Jones struck down the Dover School Board's bullshit, he cut all ties with his ID compatriates. He's scientifically dishonest and intellectually bankrupt...or is it the other way around?

4: He's a peckerhead.

5: He lied to defend child-molesting clergymen and blamed their abhorrent behavior on liberalism (how did that explain the molestation during Nixon's "law and order" days?), believes in anti-sodomy laws, and equated homosexuality with bestiality and pedophilia.

6: He's a douchtard.

7: He wanted to punish people stranded in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina for, essentially, being too poor to afford the means to get out of New Orleans.

8: He's a slimy bastard.

I think that about sums it up.

it's rather scary to think of a president who is evangelical at all

how can they be effective in dealing with health care if they beleive that health is a reward or punishment by god

why spend money at all on health care when prayer is available and free?

why spend money on disaster preparedness when volcanoes, earthquakes, etc are god's editorial punishment? who are we to thwart god's will?

and since the original sin was linked to eating from the tree of knowledge, well, there goes funding for education....

so pretty much, that frees up all the money for the military, which is supposed to be out there converting or smiting god's enemies

because apparently god's too incompetant or lazy to do that

Yeah, no kidding.

Sarah Palin said (during the run-up to last November) that she "expected to see Jesus during [her] lifetime".

I dont want ANYONE with that kind of a mindset anywhere NEAR "The Button".

A Brief History of the
Apocalypse

"The 21st century has begun in earnest! And despite the cries of doomsayers, psychics and prophets, the world has not come to an end!

Is the idea that the End is near a recent phenomenon? Far from it. Indeed, Chicken Littles have crying doom since ancient times. The aim of this page is to debunk end-time prophecy by listing hundreds of failed doomsday predictions, allay the fears spread by end-time preachers, and demonstrate that doomcrying is nothing new. I also hope you will derive amusement from some of the more bizarre prophecies.

I have strived for accuracy through careful cross-referencing among source materials. I'm constantly adding new information and correcting mistakes, yet there may still be some errors."

I think it really comes down to ego

they want to be the last generation, as if they were the pinnacle of something...some process of change and developement that lead to them...some pattern of advancement from simpler times...
