I used to think Mars might have been the planet Earth at an earlier point in time. Now the evidence is mounting that I might have been insane.

National Geographic is either stupid, lazy, or just lying. This is not a picture of a lake, it is a reconstructed (made up) image created based on what they think an ancient (no dried up) lake may have looked like. I bet they have some nice dinosaur photographs also.

ah, there you are...How do you know? Are you one of those people who takes a photo and uses some sort of computer technology to determine whether or not it is real? If not, then YOU are lying.

LOL, read the article. They claim it is an artist's rendering of what it might have looked like millions of years ago.

lol. I know. I read the full story of every one before I accidentally look like an idiot. I was simply mocking the moron I replied to because he claims they are stupid or lying even though it sais it is fake. Therefore nobody is lying about it... duh. Now, if the story claimed it was a "real photo" then they would be lying. HE should read the story. From now on, I suppose I shall type the three little letters so people can tell when I am laughing so that misunderstandings from lack of common sense like this don't happen again. lol.

I have seen the image before with its description clearly given as a simulation and credit given to the people who created it. Please follow the link I provided.

The article was updated after my comments. The orginal article did not call it an artist rendering nor did they give credit to folks who created the image.

Great!, big deal just what does that do for the world now? Before they ever get a person up there everyone of us will be dead. Please don't come back with, well it's for our children, because I don't give a damn about your children.

This proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Darwin was wrong. Man did not decend from the apes. Also
global warming destoyed all life on Mars. Bush is
the tickster behind these bogus photos. Bush and Chaney are the reason for obesity and domestic
unrest. We must vote them out of office and put someone in who won't spend all our money. These neo
cons are ruining the whole world and are the reason for world hunger and the swain flu and David Letterman. If it weren't for Bush and Chaney the Yankees and Mets would have good teams. And I know Bush and Chaney are causing
all this rain in June and ruined my vacation.
Mr Bill is right...B&C are the reason for all the problems in the entire world(and the Neocons,of coarse). Boy do I hate them..almost as much as Mr
BillSh.tter.
