Tensions Between Rich and Poor Highest in 24 Years

There are 250 comments on the www.nytimes.com story from Jan 12, 2012, titled Tensions Between Rich and Poor Highest in 24 Years. In it, www.nytimes.com reports that:

The New York Times reports:

About two-thirds of Americans now believe there are “strong conflicts” between rich and poor in the United States, a survey by the Pew Research Center found.

The survey attributed the change, in part, to “underlying shifts in the distribution of wealth in American society,” citing a finding by the Census Bureau that the share of wealth held by the top 10 percent of the population increased to 56 percent in 2009, from 49 percent in 2005.

Weigh in: Are conflicts between rich and poor on the increase? Does it matter?

Work hard and live decently or develop something like the hoola hoop, pet rock, or frisbee and you too can become a multi-millionaire. The above product inventors believed in KISS. And their families for genrations to come are all set.

The lazy and shiftless need to quit whining and get 0ff the public dole. Quit leaching off the taxpayers, those who work.

For the unfortunates who lost their jobs through no fault of their own, thanks to obammy, hang in there, there`s an election coming up. Jobs will return to America once the bum in the whitehouse is gone..........

It may not be the amount of wealth the top have as to how they obtained the wealth through corruption of our government elected officials.

If you are not a millionaire in this day and age then you are poor. Ask the majority of the people in congress. Most of them are multi millionaires.

The conflict is due to the class warfare that Obama and other Democrats have been waging in their attempts to divide and conquer Americans.

Wages for the 99% have flat lined for THIRTY years.

Of course this is building to a head.

OWS proved that.

Now we'll see if we get a level playing field in taxation, trade, and wages- or we'll face anarchy.

Another Republican like Obama won't be helpful.

We need an FDR style socialist.

If you want to see how people feel about the 99% issue wait until South Carolina votes. In N.H. Romney did well because there are a lot of rich folks there, also remember the high court just ruled corporations had no limit on how much they could donate to a campaign. Our leaders are bought and sold like cheap wh*res that is why congress has such a low approval rating.

We agree, like Nancy Pelosi and her husband, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, the Kennedy's, Kerry's, John Murtha and son.....

Democrats outweigh Republicans. Not only in terms of the number of uber-millionaires, but also with their net worth. In this Top 20 group, Democrats have a combined net worth of $263.1 billion dollars while the Republicans have a combined net worth of only $143.9 billion dollars – almost half that of Democrats. Top 20 Richest People in America (from Forbes Top 100) reveals that a full 60% are actually Democrats.

So the next time you hear some Liberal Freak try the “Evil Rich People” rhetoric, remind them and everyone around you that it is the Democrats who are those “Evil Rich People”, not the Republicans. Then stand back and watch their head spin! LMAO

Arrest all of them!

How could a Republican possibly improve the lot of the working poor by giving more of the country's money to the wealthy. The myth that they will just give it to workers is ludicrous. We have less and less left over to spend on the things that would make us buy more, ERGO no improvement in the economy. Democrats give too much to the lazy and the rich give too much to the wealthy who just ship jobs overseas to country's with cheap health care and we are even farther behind. NOTHING is made here anymore. Walmart killed this country and it is NEVER coming back. Look under everything you buy CHINA is all you can see. It is all shipped overseas and now the chickens have come home to roost. Not enough jobs left for Americans, who are now on welfare. WE MADE CHINA's boom with OUR MONEY.

The poor shouldn't be too mad at the rich and working class as their tax dollars are being used to partially fund welfare, etc.

The only purpose of this useless poll is the liberal news media is trying to get the average American to not think of obamas incompetence regarding high unemployment,15 trillion dollar national debt, obamacare etc.,etc. before the Nov. election. From now until Nov. there will be a steady diet on nonsense "news" designed to steer you away from thinking of the fact that this nation is going down the tubes and will be close to bankrupt and unable to function as a viable nation if obama is reelected.
