I pray that God will give people the burden to keep this work going, I am sure it is a tremendous job to find property where they can be installed and then the job of installing them, I would be willing to volunteer if they are in or near my community to either repair the existing crosses or to help install new ones. I remember when he started this mission and people were laughing at him and said it would never last, but look how many he put up and how this young lady has taken up his work.
God Bless

Bernard Coffindaffer began putting them up around here back in the 1980's He was a great man! He had the help of preacher Duane Peyatt and the brother William Peyatt. Wonderful Job boys! And may Bernard Coffindaffer Rest in Peace and his work be carried on!

I heard one time a very rich man lived in wv. He had a couple kids know never took Care of him or came to see him. They were 100% sure they would get money when he passed but instead he decided to take his money and place the three crosses u see all across the state.. I always thought that was an excellent idea and I hope this story is true

Why didn't he use his money for something useful?

He used it for other things too I believe charities an the retirement home he was currently in. But some of it went for the crosses. Basically he made sure it didn't go to his kids

his kids were and still are nasty heartless people.... i grew up with them ! i worked at the home he lived in until his is soooo true they never came to see him, did nothing for him and he was ashamed of them... i dint give a dam what anyone else has to say , the truth is they are what he raised, but they are lousy human beings.

Bernard left his wife and kids and divorced his family for the other younger woman. He left them---no wonder is kids didn't like him.

his son david died in a boat crash probably in the 90s.

Bernard was no Christian---I always assumed putting up the crosses was his way of buying his ticket to heaven----I bet it didn't work.
