when i was a teenager, we, as a high school class, were taken to an empty parking lot and instructed to "over-accelerate" while cornering in order to learn how to control the vehicle.

how else might one learn?

i understand that his statement of "20mph" was confirmed and that there was no danger. last weekend i went mudding in my truck and i was going a lot faster than 20mph...if they start arresting people for "off-roading" they will need to begin building more jails.

the people who were involved in the arrest of this man, including the arresting officers, should be fired, held criminally liable for false arrest/imprisonment and made to repay the wasted tax dollars.

I should say that I'm surprised upon reading about this story, but I'm not. There's nothing wrong with you, but the people that you chose to govern and represent you, well they don't paint a favorable picture of your intelligence.

sao paulo as much as i hate to admit it, you are 100% correct...

please believe that we are not all this idiotic and that somehow the "less fortunate" seem to be running this country.

Point taken!! With all that is going horribly wrong in our country, this is what concerns our moronic police/district attorneys? THIS IS HOW YOU LEARN TO DRIVE!! You can't learn how to avoid an accident or control a skid if all you do is putt along like all of the other sheep!! F--K you and your ridiculous laws, this is how we teach our kids to drive jack---es!!

So let me get this straight. You people feel this instructor did nothing wrong? Lets remember he's a drivers Ed instructor not an off road or NASCAR instructor. He's to teach teenagers the "right" way to operate a vehicle not how to swerve in and out of telephone poles and do donuts. If this were your child he was teaching and next week they kill someone or themselves then I'm sure you wouldn't be defending him but suing him for teaching your child to drive wrecklessly. By the way I personally know Bud Anderson from his days with the city of south charleston and he's not the brightest star in the sky. The police were doing their job and if they hadn't been then you people would complain that the cops just sit around and let people break the law.

i'll repeat the question asked earlier by "almost unbelievable"...

"when i was a teenager, we, as a high school class, were taken to an empty parking lot and instructed to "over-accelerate" while cornering in order to learn how to control the vehicle.

how else might one learn?"

-why do you suppose no one knows how to handle a skid anymore? why does no one know what to do when their vehicle does something unexpected? this is how you learn to control your car. mudding, powersliding and pulling the ebrake has saved my life twice. two separate occasions where i was able to regain control of my vehicle and save my own life. once was in the snow and the other was to avoid a head on collision almost caused by another driver veering into my lane. had i not goofed off and learned a few things i would've been killed both times.

HOW ELSE MIGHT ONE LEARN?!...by driving like a nun? i don't think so. we need more driver's ed teachers like him.

BUD ANDERSON should be run out of business. SOUTH CHARLESTON HIGH SCHOOL recommends him as an instructor for their high school students and he also has ALL STATE INSURANCE COMPANY recommending him. How does this happen? He is a poor instructor, puts his female students on his cell phone and passes the photos around for people to view - talks about the female students, bra sizes and etc. I cannot believe SOUTH CHARLESTON HIGH SCHOOL continues to support this nut. Certainly, he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but if he is this stupid, then take away his business license. He is not fit to teach any student - female or male- how to drive. KICK HIM TO THE CURB NOW BEFORE HE GETS SOMEONE KILLED.

ARE YOU INSANE? This is a real issue. What happens when some kid gets killed? Wake up and smell the coffee or better still, take your own kid down and let him teacch him/her how to drive.

What has that got to do with allowing kids to do donuts in a parking lot? Do you think that student is going to know to react by playing around with a vehicle, especially an inexperienced driver. Come on buddy, lets get real here.

I cannot believe you are such an idiot. In reading these responses and articles about BUD ANDERSON'S DRIVING SCHOOL, I know something must be wrong with your brain.

So now the police are all morons because they gave a nut like Bud Anderson a ticket for allowing an inexperienced driver to do donuts in the driving school's parking lot? Now, wouldn't you just know it! So this is what's wrong in this country! WOW. God Bless the South Charleston police.

Yes they are morons. Back in the day, this is how teenagers were taught to drive. This was accepted school policy across the nation. How many new drivers out there are experienced at controlling a skid? I'll answer for you, the ones who have been offroading and the ones who have done doughnuts in parking lots. Your band geek kids would crash if they lost control of their car, and to answer the above question, there is no other way to learn.

a "nut" like bud anderson? at 20mph? omg the horrific nature of this insane speed is just nerve wracking. in my school more than half of us go off roading every weekend and none of us have had a wreck. i'm only 17 and i'll put my driving skills up against any of you pansy a--ed b---h taxpayers anyday, i don't care how old you old f----ers are, i can outdrive all of you. taxpayer you may pay your taxes but i'll bet you and your kids drive like a family of nuns!! what do you do if your brakes go out while going down a hill? if you overcorrect on a skid, will the car slide off the inside or outside of the road? if you are about to "t bone" another vehicle and there no time to steer around or brake, which part of the vehicle do you steer for, the front, middle or rear to lessen the impact for both drivers? these aren't rhetorical questions, answer them if you can. i can go on all day with questions that you and you're kids can't answer. take it from me you non driving b---h, people like us can outdrive you anyday of the week because we go out in isolated areas and get a little crazy. if we had more andersons in this country then we might not have as many teenagers getting killed becausee no one knows what to do in an on road emergency. 20mph are f---ing serious?!, i can hold a powerslide at 60mph everytime without ever losing control and i'm only 17.

Although I do not plan on letting my daughter learn to powerslide at 60mph, I do plan on letting her experiment in a safe place when she gets her permit. A little overbraking and overacceleration while learning to drive is essential to teaching a teenager to survive what could be a catastrophy. Taxpayer we want our kids to learn to drive, not panic and freeze because they don't know what to do. Way to go Mr Anderson!...i hope these ridiculous charges are dropped!

The Best way for kids to learn is on THEIR PARENTS Insurance $$$, NOT the School Systems. With Nothing to lose, how much instruction is really going on?
