One of the chief problems with drug courts is their reliance on forced participation in 12 step programs which have a success rate of about 5%. Not only that but religion is forced on 12 step members regardless of their claims. Many people forced into these programs don't have any problem at all and many are casual pot users who have no addiction problem at all. Drug courts are a good idea in principle but until they drop their dependence on forced 12 step participation they are doomed to failure.
