(From the things you already knew department) Supported 'out' people healthier

Jun 20, 2011 | Posted by: Rick in Kansas | Full story: www.cnn.com

The level of support that people perceive in their surroundings when they come out as lesbian, gay, or bisexual is closely related to their mental health and overall well-being, and this may mean that coming out to some people (but not others) is less psychologically damaging than has been believed, a new study suggests.

How these academics come up with funding to study the obvious is beyond me!

It would be more useful to spend more time on the causes of hate-related violence and whether that is more due to nature or nurture.

I've been on Effexor from http://goo.gl/kHgRdx only one week but am cautiously very optimistic. Prior to this I was on citalopram but still feeling very low and sleeping poorly, feeling like I needed to be in bed 12-16 hours a day. Now I am waking naturally after only 8 hours sleep and finding it much easier to concentrate at work. I can hardly believe it is working so quickly but I feel so much better. I've had no side effects.
