Huntsville Q4 business confidence lowest in the state
HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- Business confidence for the Huntsville metro area fell during fourth-quarter 2012, as looming federal government budget cuts and continued uncertainty lowered expectations, according to a new report from the University of Alabama .

It ought to be low. We are hitched to the defence and space bugets, both inevitably to decline, hitting Huntsville hard.
Our city fathers need to act to build up REAL industries not dependent on the federal government.

great idea but other than the automotive industries, the high cost of living and the employee base just settling for a lower paying "job" until they can get on at a defence or auto plant would not be conducive to bring in a normal industry not related to what's already in Huntsville.

We have a highly educated work force, chocked with engineers. We could look to biomedical engineering, the machinery of medicine, to robots and Robotisc, to artificial intelligence, and many other fields. We need to just do it.
