"Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery." (Luke 16:18)
Our churches are full of divorced/remarried people. I know quite a few very nice Christian couples who were divorced and remarried, and many of these folks agree with you that homosexuality is a sin.
Everyone picks and chooses what they believe.
<You> "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery." (Luke 16:18)

<Me> Correct! There are only three ways of being absolved from that commitment. 1. Death. 2. Either one of the two married couple commits Adultery, the innocent party is free to marry again. 3. A divorce doesn't mean one is free to remarry Again either...

<You> Everyone picks and chooses what they believe.

<Me> Not everyone, but the majority do....sadly.

God is a God of Absolutes, not political correctness, nor shades of gray....When God speaks, his words mean things....

"Our beloved brother Paul according to the wisdom given him also wrote you, speaking about these things as he does also in all his letters, In them, however, are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unsteady are twisting, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction." 2 Pet. 2:3:15,16

""Where anyone hears the word of the kingdom but does not get the sense of it, the wicked one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart." Matt. 13:19

"They publicly declare they know God, but they disown him by their works, because they are detestable and disobedient and not approved for good work of any sort." Ti. 1:16

And that's why the majority won't see salvation....

"Go in through the narrow gate, because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it."

Why doesn't Perry do some useful prayin' fer a change?
Like fer rain in drought-plagued Texas.
I mean, him being a prayin' man and all that.
Does he actually have any influence with God or not?
If so, it's time for him to stop galivantin'
and git down on his knees.
I don't know, maybe God is tired
of his smarmy, pseudo-religious charade.
I know I am.
No dumbass, he's just being a free Ameican exercising his rights to say what he feels, unlike the socialists who want to ban freedoms. Go back to your budda statue and snort your South American pigmy dust and worship your fake picture of Lenin. That'll work!

It is clear the President, and his people must talk about theology, or anything, but the Presidents record. The President made his religion clear, and no one cared. They cannot have it both ways where the Democrats can talk about religion, and Republicans dare not.

A dozen people carrying signs such as "It's OK to be gay, guv" stood outside the Governor's Mansion and encouraged Perry to address rumors about his sexuality.

They had a rally at the Governor’s Mansion in support of the governor today.

Some of his friends said,'Come out, Rick, and we'll support you.'

"What crosses the line of everything decent is the utter hypocrisy of Rick Perry injecting his mean-spirited politics into everyone else's personal life while insisting his own personal life is off limits.

"What is truly indecent is the state of children's health care, public schools and insurance rates under Perry's regime," a speaker said.

There a sense of irony in that 51 years ago, JFK sought to allay fears of his religious beliefs influencing his political decisions. He would have lost the election if he had not emphatically embraced separation of church and state.
Fast forward to the present and now we have many voters demanding almost the exact opposite. Many are now insisting that religious dogma should inform policy decisions and conditions their vote upon a candidates’ public avowal of faith and piety.
It’s acceptable to ask candidates about their moral, ethical, and value systems. But it’s another matter when religious tests are imposed for public office, particularly when such tests are specifically forbidden by Article VI of the Constitution.
Politicians use their religious affiliation as a means of attracting voters.
Religion should not be used as a campaign strategy.
So true! History also shows where there has been theocratical governments the results have been religious fanaticism and dictatorship.

Dear, everyone has the right to spout their religion = whatever it might be. Sometimes even negatively if you remember the Obama haters doing a number on Wright, dontchabetchathink? Not so successful with that one were they!?

The politicians use their religion to cater to those bible thumping and bible hugging voters. It is distasteful and transparent.

And freedom, dear friend, nobody is banning freedom but keep trying with that fux propaganda. It does not wash.

I would love to "pray away the gay" with people like you but that silly "cure" does not work. Only for those filling their bank accounts.

Politicians (and others) should bring people together - not divide them with their bigotry. One of the reasons Bachmann is clueless and unelectable.

We were at a Labor Day picnic yesterday, and there were several of my husbands Union friends there. Of course the discussion turned to politics. They will vote Republican, and their favrite Republican is Rick Perry, a man's man. We laughed so hard, because they aways defended President Clinton. I said the campaign is going to get very dirty, but no matter what these people will not vote for President Obama again.

My point is that you are free to believe and worship as you see fit. You are not free to impose those beliefs on others--nor am I free to impose my beliefs on you. The church I belong to does not allow same-sex marriage, but I think that my government should not interfere with two adults' right to marry.

Anyone who makes more the $250,000. and votes Democrat is a bigger fool. That's a man, and wife making $125,000. each, with 2 children, a mortgge, healthcare, school fees (there is no such thing as free education)and the Government wants to treat you like you are rich. Vote Republican.
