Notre Dame has been secular protestant for many years. President Jenkins is a fine example of secular protestantism. He and the University are a scandal to practicing Roman Catholics and to all devout Christians of good will who love the unborn. Pelosi, Kennedy, Biden, Jenkins, all with no moral courage to stand up for the defenseless unborn. They are in good company with King Herod, Pontius Pilate, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin.

I for one am very pleased that my Bishop, Bishop D'Arcy will not be attending. He is a good man. Standing up for the unborn should be one of the top priorities of the Church, not kissing up and playing politics.

You slander poor old Pontius Pilate. He was vilified by the early Christian Church. By the laws and customs which existed in his day, he was simply keeping order in his area of responsibility. There are even legends that he converted to Christianity later in his life, although there is no written record of this.

I agree that the University of Notre Dame is probably very secular these days. What's up with that "touchdown Jesus" near their football stadium?

Pontius Pilate wash his hands of the blood of the innocent savior and listened to the vicious crowd to crucify Jesus. No moral courage to protect the innocent. Case closed

As you say, he washed his hands of the whole affair.
He was trying to keep the peace and avoid a riot. I still think he gets a bum rap from historians.
You are passing a 21st century judgment on a 1st century individual. That's not fair.

What can I say? Don't let the B.O. speak, it's an abomination. Let the morons say it's "racist" as they are over-using, but the fact is that the infiltration of this THING into the lives of PEOPLE is an OMEN of what is to come.
