To consider Barack Obama with his stance on Abortion and Stem cell research it is sending the wrong message to Americans! If this President doesnt relize his errors in his own judgement maybe the good and decent people of this country should remind him! President Obama is also in favor of partial birth abortion ( a deplorable acr of a savage person that does this) I as a man of consciense say no to Barack Obamas invitation to Notre Dame!

Seems to be a double standard in play here.
The Pope and the Catholic church condemned the U.S. invasion of Iraq, an invasion that resulted in the death of untold innocents whether justified or not.
Yet Notre Dame had no problem with President Bush speaking at Commencement.
It has been said that Notre Dame should not give a platform to anyone who's positions go against the Church's positions.
President Bush's position on the war surely went against the Church's position on the war.
Then there is the small matter of "thou shall not kill" along with "turn the other cheek".
It would appear many at Notre Dame are principled when it comes to abortion, but not so much when it comes to warring and killing the living.
How convenient to suddenly be against giving a platform to someone who's position goes against the Church's position when that person is Obama, but not against giving a platform to someone who's position goes against the Church's position when that person was Bush.
The Church deemed Bush's actions immoral, yet Notre Dame welcomed Bush with open arms.

There is a fundamental misunderstanding in play with this-
Church teaching is against war-true. However, under conditions, war (and the death penalty, also invoked on these boards) is allowable on condition.
Abortion is never permitted under any circumstances.
I can give you source detail if you want, but this difference is the basis for the Obama uproar.
In any event, it does appear that Obama received the same invitaion Bush got, so what 'double-standard' is ND applying themselves? None, it seems.

I agree with you, dame338. But, not all murder is physical. What about the many boys and girls who's spirits have been murdered by pedophile priests? What about the churches stand against homosexuality (I agree), yet, they did not defrock the priests who were sexual with young boys. Or the vow of chastity yet, some priests and nuns were having sexual relations.
I studied and considered Catholicsm, only to change my mind after I looked at these and many other contradictions.

Notre Dame will be honored to have Barack Obama as a speaker.
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA IS BRILLIANT!
Speaking of Barack Obama—Barack Obama is a racial-minority individual and does not like racism:
And Michelle Obama is a racial-minority individual and does not like racism:
SOME OF THE WORST CASES OF RACIAL PREJUDICE IN WORLD HISTORY!
CONSTRUCTIVE WORLDWIDE DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION RELATING TO SCANDALS:
(I) I do solemnly swear by Almighty God that George W. Bush committed atrocious, racist, hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism which I am not at liberty to mention. Many people know what Bush did. And many people will know what Bush did—even until the end of the world. Bush was absolute evil. Bush is now like a fugitive from justice. Bush is a psychological prisoner. Bush often worries. In any case, Bush will go down in history in infamy.
(II) It is opined that Bill Clinton committed terrifying, racist, hate crimes during his presidency, and I am not free to say anything further about it.‘Be sure your sins will find you out’(Numbers 32:23).
(III) What if basically all racial-minority people would subscribe to the interpretations that George Herbert Walker Bush committed monstrous, racist, hate crimes while he was the President of the United States? It will eventually come out: it is only a matter of time.
(IV) I know it may be hard to believe. However, Ronald Wilson Reagan committed horrible, racist, hate crimes during his presidency.

(There are thousands of copies on the Internet (by March 29, 2009) indicating the contents of (I),(II),(III), and (IV). For example, one can go to Google right now, type “George W. Bush committed hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism,” hit “Enter,” and readily find 1,000 or more copies indicating content of (I). For example, one can go to Msn right now (11 April 2009), type “It is opined that Bill Clinton committed racist hate crimes, and I am not free to say anything further about it,” hit “Enter,” and readily find more than 440 copies indicating content of (II). For example, one can go to Msn right now, type “George Herbert Walker Bush committed monstrous, racist, hate crimes,” hit “Enter,” and readily find more than 190 copies indicating content of (III). For example, one can go to Msn right now, type “Ronald Wilson Reagan committed horrible, racist, hate crimes during his presidency,” hit “Enter,” and readily find more than 170 copies indicating content of (IV). And there are thousands of copies in very many countries around the world. For example, there are countless copies on the Internet in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Russia, the United Kingdom, etc.)

Where do you live that racism is that big of a issue to you ? What has the president done to improve your standard of living ? Im just curious, most people I talk to have different stories. I just dont get the rock star vibe from him. Looks more like a career politition to me.
