Simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) is a retrovirus that is found, in numerous strains, in primates; example; note;- 'needs further proveing' cats,rats,rabbits,badgers, chickens etc; specific strains infecting humans are HIV-1 and HIV-2,and HIV-3 HIV-4 and others ab/g the viruses that cause disease in humans ie; 'aids virus'although most scientists believe the virus has crossed from animals to humans, it is more likely the aids virus can be established by 'rogue testosterone' causing cell mis-transcription; the rationalle behind this is the virus would not sustain in so many species for such a long period of time; especially humans:
