The debate over gays in the military has been settled with a historic decision to allow them to serve openly, but big questions lie ahead about how and when the change will take place, how troops will accept it and whether it will hamper the U.S. military effort in Afghanistan and Iraq.

If you're openly gay, but you're gonna hold hands with your lover in the military base somewhere, it'll be frowned upon ..........
If straight couples can hold hands on base out of uniform, then so can gay couples.

The bigots (including the self-hating homosexuals like yourself) will just have to learn to deal with it.

Yes, liberals and their failed economic policies.
Don't come crying to the other states when you need a bailout because of your states support of these corrupt unions.
The Democrat Party has ruined a city, Detroit, that once was the envy of the world. It is one of the most liberally ran cities in the country because you guys think the way to pay for sh*t is to keep taxing, which drives companies away.
Yeah, 13% unemployment isn't to be blamed on unions and their, excuse the pun, Cadillac pension plans.
The people of Detroit and Michigan get exactly what they elect - people like Kwame and Monica!

Liberal representation you can be proud of!!!!!!!!!
The domestic auto industry tanked under both GOP & Dem leadership in Michigan. It was as bipartisan a problem as you could get. The unions are primarily Democratic controlled, while the white collar executives are primarily Republican. They all did their part in destroying Michigan's economy.

Detroit is just a hell-hole that needs to be nuked and start over.

READING COMPREHENSION, try it some time.
I said the reapportionment would like be a wash overall. Yes, the GOP controlled states that gain seats will likely make those new seats GOP, just as those Dem controlled states that lose seats will likely get rid of the few GOP seats left.
So while Georgia & South Carolina will likely add 1 GOP seat each, New York will likely get rid of 2 of their last 3 GOP seats. So in the House overall that's a wash-+2 GOP,-2 GOP.
States like Texas, Florida, & Arizona, though controlled by the GOP, are different because of the large growth in the hispanic population. By federal law they can't simply rejigger district lines to ensure all the seats they gain will be safe GOP seats. They have to ensure the hisanics have proportional representation in congress, just like they do in Georgia or Alabama with black districts. So in all likelihood Texas will add 3 GOP majority districts and 1 Dem majority district. Florida will likely be 1 GOP & 1 Dem.
When all is said and done, there will probably be 12-14 GOP seats added with 10-12 GOP seats taken away. The GOP will likely end up with a net gain of 2-4 seats, but that all depends on other factors in the 2012 election.
Sorry, I am right, you are wrong- end of story!

Sorry, but you may be right in your own mind.......but even that is pretty questionable.......lol!!!

As a Lesbian legally married to my wife.......we only ask that our marriage be treated equally with opposite-sex married couple who also have no biological children in their relationship.

Until then.......we will continue to fight!!!

At least you're keeping a closed mind about it.

My legal marriage isn't recognized by the federal govt, but the couple in front of me in line at the courthouse IS recognized just because they're opposite sex. We were both issued the exact same marriage license from the state, yet their marriage is recognized by the federal govt, while mine isn't. That's not equal rights.

It won't be the "end of story" until I have equal marriage rights that every other couple has in America.

Exactly.......yet, somehow they just don't get it.

I thought the comments were bad after Prop 8 passed by the idiotic haters.......but the comments about Gays and Lesbians serving in the Military and the Repeal of DADT just amazes me that these people can even function.

I think Forrest Gump had it right.......Stupid is as Stupid does.........and these haters just get more pathetic every day!!!
