There are 26 comments on the www.eurekalert.org story from May 15, 2009, titled Natural petroleum seeps off Santa Barbara release up to 80 Exxon Valdez oil spills. In it, www.eurekalert.org reports that:

A new study by researchers at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the University of California, Santa Barbara is the first to quantify the amount of oil residue in seafloor sediments that result from natural petroleum seeps off Santa Barbara, California. There is an oil spill everyday at Coal Oil Point (COP), the natural seeps off Santa Barbara, California, where 20-25 tons of oil have leaked from the seafloor each day for the last several hundred thousand years.

when you have windfarms supplying electricity, Obama will make a law forbidding the wind from ever stopping. A similar law would make clouds over solar energy farms illegal as well. You KNOW yo can do it!

President Obama doesn't have a working plan to keep people employed, we have record unemployment:

Yet you want to trust him to manage the climate? Why?

so, 25 -30 tonnes a DAY for several hundred thousand years is "Minor"?
Yes. two facts. One is that the quotation is for peak levels, not normal daily output. The other is that spread over a wide area, this is really not a lot. The Exxon Valdez unloaded 200,000 tons and some of this was dealt with naturally. Nature can handle small seeps. It is the scale of human production that can overwhelm nature.

And it creates American jobs, increases tax revenues, directly pays oil royalties to the states, increases supply, breaks the Cartel production controls, and drops gas prices.
Oh, sure. In some fantasy land. Have you LOOKED at a pump lately. Oh, yea. You are in Germany and have NOT A CLUE about the U.S. or the price of gas.

Countering waste and profligate discharge of emissions into the atmosphere is NOT 'managing the climate'. It is 'if it hurts when you do this.. stop doing this' common sense.

And it doesn't rest on the 'crediblity' of Obama.

Your idea of stopping fossil fuel to stop hurting climate is wrong.

Sheeh, waste and profligate is not hungry and wanting. All production has waste.

Your AGW models is so wrong. You drive carbon, your results are biased. You can only fix with better data and theory.

You want, mandated products, subsidies, rebates, wealth redistribution, carbon tax forcing down use.

Not depression? Fantasy wind and sun?
