Inexpensive female companionship "no problema" at some San Gabriel Valley bars

Oct 17, 2010 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: San Gabriel Valley Tribune

They are referred to as bar girls, ficheras, b-girls or even hostesses. But the state of California just calls them illegal.

Wonder if any undercover operations ended with the officer realizing that there was an atoms apple after he'd already tasted the forbidden fruit? Yikes, I'm going to shot some more hoops at the park for the rest of the day, delouse myself, and never fill out an official report. I think I earned my money for the next six months with that investigation. I really shouldn't drink so much when work these bars and pump suspects for information.

Meh. What's the big deal with the girls? If they're concerned about overconsumption, then cite and enforce for overconsumption.

I am glad to see the police are diligent in checking if women are talking to men in bars. The story said this has been going on since the 1940's. I hear this has been going on since Abraham opened that little place on the Adam & Eve Hwy in modern day Baghdad 30,000 year ago. Why does anyone even care?

I wish the police were as diligent checking the local politicians for corruption.

This is actually a wonderful way to get low-grade, "dive" bars OUT of a community! All it takes is one man observing the process, and making an anonymous call to ABC! I can't think of a better way to rid a community of these eyesore, and drunk-driving, promoting businesses!

"I wish the police were as diligent checking the local politicians for corruption". They can't because some of the police officers are just as corrupt or worse as these policitians. A perfect example is the El Monte Police Officers Association. A few of our elected officials in council are in bed with them. The things people do for power & money ...lots of it $$$$

They do the same thing at topless bars . One of then women would act like she is into you and ask that you buy them beer . If you're smart you just tell them no and they will leave you alone and go look for a sucker that will . If one does she will stay and talk with him till the money is gone then she will just walk away and look for the next sucker . If you tell them no they will usually bug for a little while to see if they can change your mind . This does not only happen at Mexican bars at happenes at all bars including them cowboy bars . Back in the early 90's I went , with my work boddy , with a freind to that cowboy bar at San Dimas & Arroh Hwy they had dozens of bar flys . They had every race, size , shape , and they had some that would pleas you in everyway . So you can't just blame Mexican bars , all bars are the same and will please your every need . Just depends in what city or area you are in , and thats the females you will find working .

A combined task force of local police, ABC, and ICE officials would have a significant impact on this problem. The is no will for it though. If they claimed a manpower shortage was the problem, I am sure you could entice some retirees back to work if they were allowed oh drink and be hustled by women while on duty. I know this would infringe upon what the politicians believe is their personal vocation, but they would have to suck it up.

"In addition, male prostitutes dressed as females would often hang out in the bar after they turned tricks at other locations, Hernandez said."

What does this do for the image of the "Macho" mexicans? Ay Caramba - Mexicans are into transvestites, Si Se Puede !!!

Big brother knows best...You're old enough to drink, go the wars, and work dangerous jobs, but the government must regulate your life on alcohol consumption with consenting adults? The amazing thing is, people tolerate this and let this happen.

Straight up nanny-ism. This Sucks described it perfectly. All this does for me is want to starve the beast even more- no more taxes, no more money for the police dept if they waste my money monitoring this non-crime.

Yeah, we've already got the drunk driving hit and runners, and the 'macho' beatings and knifing of wives and girl friends. Maybe decapitations and dissolved bodies.

I have not been inside a bar in years, but I am sure this sort of thing goes on in bars.

I would hesitate to outlaw it as it does not go over the line unless sex is exchanged for money.

I DONT see the big deal.....

So it's ok to pay $40 for a lap dance but not $10 for a female companion to talk to.
