Animals in no way display 'gay' behavior. Gay behavior is strictly a human phenomenon. What animals display is homosexual behavior.

Not sure I agree with you YOF. In at least some cases there is emotional bonding and lifetime commitment. Granted that few non human animals have a natural ability at decorating or clothing design.:-)

The only difference is the love and cherishing part, although many species of animals seem to have the lifelong commitment down fairly well.

The prefix "homo" refers to human. Thus a "homosexual" animal must sleep with humans.

Certainly, physical anthropologists assert that many alternate forms of behavior can be adaptive and hence help for ultimate species suvival. People often think that just reproduction is the issue, but many people--gay and straight--contribute to society without reproducting, through education, good deeds, helping their fellow human beings.
