Gay parenting in the Bible Belt
Latisha Bines and Misty Gray cheered like any other parents at a recent middle school soccer game.
They're the two soccer moms in 13-year-old Darion Bines life. The women and all three of Latishas children operate as a family. And they've turned to their church for support, suggesting a changing face of the Bible Belt.

These states are running 21.1% to 26.3% gay families raising children
The map shows the concentration of same-sex couples raising children under the age of 18. East South Central U.S.(Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee), West South Central (Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas) and South Atlantic (Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia). The highest concentration nationally was in the East South Central U.S. with 26.3 percent. West South Central ranked second with 26 percent. The South Atlantic U.S. ranked last at 21.1 percent.
